Where’s my Beer? The Fire Department just gave notice of possible evacuation, where is my beer? Just a little scared though we have never flooded here, though it has never rained this hard either! I really need a beer! They said be prepared to leave tomorrow. I just hope they are being over cautious. Say some prayers for the Dennis and me, he is not fond of getting wet. I gave him a bath last week and he almost drown, he lifted his head and sniffed in some water. |
Wow, I can't imagine being evacuated, it must be very scary. I will keep you and Dennis in my thoughts and prayers and also pray for sunshine soon! |
Oh, and if I were closer, I'd run you over a beer;) |
I'll just drink the beer for you, since you're a little busy right now. |
Prayers are being sent you way.... Be safe.... |
Where"s Vestal, east coast? |
Good luck, hope all goes well for you and Dennis. I will drink a beer for you too!!:D |
I will most definitely keep you and dennis in my prayers :( (just in case pack some clothes;food/dogfood;water;and maybe an emergancy credit card:D |
I feel bad for the woman that just moved in across the street, she has hardly had a chance to unpack! Well I don’t think it will be anything like New Orleans though I have never seen it rain like this. I went bowling tonight and with an umbrella, just walking to the car I was soaked. I did bowl well though, 623 for the series. Vestal is in Upstate NY bordering Binghamton. I’ll tell you I am feeling a little light headed and giddy, don’t know weather they are just being overly cautious. Trying to watch the local news, but nothing new just yet. Thanks guys for all the support and the beer, lets toast! I don’t have flood insurance! I really think I will be alright, just a tad nervous though. |
Oh no im saying some prayers for you too. And about the beer someone please drink one for me too. |
sorry to here that i was tyring to post a pic of a beer but it wouldn't let me so i tried lol good luck hope all is well |
Prayers that you remain safely in your home! |
Sending prayers your way that you and Dennis will be safe. We were displaced from our home for over three week because of Rita, it was hard but as long as you and your family are safe that is all that really matter. If they do have madatory evacuation leave, you will loose power and the water supply with be contaminated and peoples ugly sides will come out. I don't mean to scare you but it is safer to leave. Take care. If you can empty your ice box, because if you are gone for a few day, you won't believe the smell. |
How is the weather today? Hope all the prayers were heard and things are safe for you and Dennise. |
hey....what's going on. are you home yet???? let us know |
please keep us updated to make sure your safe:( |
:beermug: :beermug: :beermug: Here's a sixpack. If we were closer you could drink them at my place. Good Luck! and Stay Dry! :beermug: :beermug: :beermug: |
She must have gone out for more beer. |

Thank you all for your support. I slept in the van last night with the Dennis and it was pretty uncomfortable to say the least. I was perched on a hill over looking my neighborhood and fortunately we were 4 inches from a breach…how lucky can you get. All I could think of is “Who would have thought I would have water front property.” So many people lost everything and everyone is saying the worst flood in 50 years. Feel so bad for so many, especially all the misplaced animals that I saw. The Restaurant down the block had water past the roof, and the Susquehanna and all the small streams seemed to merge surrounding us and I thought for sure we would flood after all the thunder storms we had last night. I did bring my bicycle so I peddled back here to take a long bath because I can’t stand to be filthy and I certainly was that! They are still not allowing anyone back, but I think the worst is over, even though they are still calling for more and more rain. I just talked to a neighbor and he said he was able to drive in, so I guess this is a secret because the police were telling me “No you can’t get back yet.”. There must me many more like me, now that I have gotten to see the news, floods from DC to Jersey. Hope everyone was as lucky as the Dennis and me. I will include some pictures I took. :thumbs up |

I am so glad that you are ok! I know how frightening it is. Although I got lucky and the river never came over I feel so sorry for all the people it effected. Down my way there are still people in the wilkes barre area that are not allowed back home yet. There are a lot of homes and businesses under water. They are now calling for severe thunderstorms this evening. When will it end. If you need anything just pm me I am not too far away from you. God Bless meeshue |
