Don't laugh this is my first time ever...
 
I have never ever sewn anything in my life other than sewing a button on a scrapbook page. Anyway, last night I bought a small sewing machine and decided to teach myself to sew a dress for Lexi. I didn't have a pattern so I just measured her and did the best I could for a first time.

So here it is...

awww, thanks everyone. it's alright but I definetly need practice. My stitches aren't very straight and my homemade pattern really needs improvement...

i didn't see anything to laugh at you did a really good job! i give it :thumbup: :thumbup: the fabric is really pretty too. my nala looks good in bright colors and so does your lexi!

I think you did a great job, sewing clothes for these little guys isnt easy to do at first, takes time and effort. You did very, very well, esp with no pattern

Thanks again everyone, It really looks ALOT better in the pic than in real life. I have some more pics of the dress that show some of the many flaws.

Good news is I have a friend who sews and she is coming over tommorrow night and is going to teach me to sew.

I can draw almost anything, but so for sewing is not nearly as easy as drawing. So, I'm going to make my own patterns and she is going to teach me to sew them right.

It's adorable!!! I need to get in the habit of making more stuff for Bouncer, although my stitching is HORRID! lol

You did a great job it is adorable. Very spring like. Now if I could so a button on or hem something I would try, but hey I even send out my clothes to be hemmed or have them do it at the department store.

You did a fantastic job doesn't look like a novice to me.
