first night with real sleep well Ive had molly home for 3 nights now and last night was the first night in her crate she slept all night. No crying at all. whew I needed some sleep.:p |
That's good to hear. Angel was like that after 2-3 days upon arriving at her new home and lasted for a few days (but seemed like forever :D) From all the posts on here regarding whining/barking at night most seemed to say to ignore it, and it worked. Now she sleeps quite peacefully at night but the odd time she will whine/bark because she pooped and I guess that's her way of letting us know :D |
i remember that I can totally understand what you feel first two nights i brought my Rocky home he was crying all night we were till like about 5am both nights. Then i guess he got the hang of it and knew that he was there to stay and that we didnt sneak out on him or something lol. |
Ugh, I remember those days with the whining all night. Just know that it is just a phase and hang in there.:) |
Wow! You guys sure aren't giving me anything to look forward to! |
When We got our yellow lab, he was 8 weeks old and cried for 2 weeks! Talk about sleep deprivation!! My Saide is coming home on July 9th and I expect a few sleepless nights, but she's worth it:). She's 3 months old, though so maybe it won't be as hard on her (I'm hoping) but I've got the coffee pot fired up just incase ;)!! |
Kali was the opposite. When we first brought her home she slept all night. She would whine for the first 5 minutes then sleep until 5:30. After about 2 wks. She started crying at 4:30. Then 3:30. Finally she did it at 2:00a.m. I started to get up and hubby said "No". He then said "Kali No Nighty Night". She went back to sleep and has slept until 5:30 since. I am still waiting for the day that she sleeps until 6 or after. |
cool . . .is the crate in your bedroom? I have not slept with my furbabies in a while - about 3 weeks now as they have been sick and so did I. I hope this will be the last week they are separated from me :( |
The other night my son got up sick and crying about 4:00, and in the process of me caring for him, the dogs got woke up. Mazie (our barker!) yapped and yapped for awhile. I warned my husband to "ignore", but he kept getting up and messing with her, and then finally let her come get in bed with us. Guess what?! :p After NO problems sleeping in her crate, all this time....the next night she woke us up barking at her "new" getting-out time---4:00! THIS time hubby ignored, and hopefully she's back on her PROPER schedule, now! :p |
Got my cali yesterday and last night was bad, real bad. I am sooo tired. Hope tongiht is better. Good thing is, after about an hour of playing today she's pretty dang tired since she got no sleep as well. That means less poops to clean up ;-). |
This might sound slightly nutty , but before I got my new puppy, I gathered together a blanket and a few little soft "lovies" that would go in her crate....and I slept with them, several times. :p Just, really got my scent all over them. And I don't know if that helped, but my puppy NEVER had a problem being crated, even though she never had been before. |
