TeddyBear | 06-23-2006 06:22 PM | Found out what scabs were When we got Shylah, she had little scabs on her lower back. I was worried it was mites or fleas. Well it turnes out it is some kind of allergic reaction. The vet thinks she was probably kenneled in either cedar or hay and she had a reaction to it. I gave her a bath as soon as we got home despite the breeder already had and she is already getting better. She is on antibiotics now. She also had a scratch on her ear and that may have happened from her scratching so much or another puppy could have done it. I don't recommend this breeder to anyone, this shouldn't have happened. My husband wants her to reimberse us for the vet bill, but I would have taken her to be checked if she was healthy. It was 20.00 for the skin scrap and 20.00 for the meds. The rest would have been what I would have paid other wise. I don't think 40.00 is worth fighting over. She is a tiny one. Only 1lb 9oz at almost 12 weeks. But she is eating and drinking and playing just fine. She is either on or off, sleeping or running. It is amazing how fast you can fall in love with one of these little creatures. I've only had her 3 days!
