A few "quick" questions/stories. When do a yorkies ears start to stand up? My baby is 9 weeks old and hers are still down. Do yorkies need a "puppy cut" (I think that is what it is called) like other breeds? If so at what age? Ok, now I am just going to tell you a little bit about what's going on with her. I just bought her a baby blanket and she seems to really like it, she has been curling up on the floor wherever I am like in the kitchen when I'm washing dishes or by the chair when I am working on the computer and studying, so I thought that I could just move the blanket into whatever room I am in and she can lay on it. I feel bad because I bought my first puppy Misha all kinds of neat stuff, but this baby is being treated like the second child and didn't have anything new, so I got her a toy and a blanket. Also I am trying to get lots of pictures of her now. I puppy sat for a friend today, while she was shopping, the puppy is 11 weeks old and a boy maltipoo. They got along really well (once we established that humping her is not allowed). They played and played, he is bigger than her, but she definitely held her own. She has been sleeping since he left, and didn't eat much. Sorry this is so long. |
Fun times! Well, are her ears shaved mishasmom? If the ears are heavy, they are not going to be able to stand up. Also, you can look into taping up the ears, there's been a few threads about that and it does work and is safe for a Yorkie! :) |
My youngest yorkie´s Jessie´s ears were up at about 10-11weeks,and I did nothing to help them up at all.I dont beleive in taping at all,or that cheese will help either.I beleive that if their ears are going to stand, they will do so on their own,and if they are going to be floppy,no ammount of taping is going to change that. Both of my yorkies have straight ears and Iv never done anything to make it that way, exept of course trimming the hair to keep them light;) Lady,my first yorkie, also had alot of new things when we got her..I bought her beds, toys, blankies, you name it,I had to get it for her:) But with Jessie its different,we too have treated her like the second child..but thats not a bad thing.Lady was/is very spoiled, she was our first yorkie and she knows it..so now she is very jelous and gets very aggressive. But Jessie is not spoiled at all,she is very laid back and not jelous at all,so I think that not spoiling her like we did Lady, has been a good thing. I have a bed and blankie in every room for Lady and Jess,so that if Im in the kitchen, they can sit comfortably with me,and the same if Im in the bathroom, bedroom etc.Congrats on your new baby:) |
