New puppy & Purina puppy food Q ok so i was scanning the local weekly paper yesterday online, i found an add for male yorkies 6 weeks old akc $500! he also had 2 older ones to sale about 1yr $800 but he sold them already.. so i called and went out there he had about 15 yorkies in kennels outside and 3 male 6 week babies and another set of not even a week old 3 babys. i don't like the fact he keeps them outside it's too hot but none of them looked skinny or nasty they had food, water. i got one of the males we stopped by petsmart to see if he could get groomed bathed all that..becuase he is stinky! groomer out for an hour but the lady there shaved his little ears for me to get them started standing. so we took him to the vet to get his 1st shots, worming . he had poopy caked on his little butt NASTY that's why he's stinky.! they gave me some puppy shampoo and a puppy pack which is a book and a big bag of purina pro plan lamb&rice puppy YAY! he weighed 1lb 12oz. i brought him home and gave him 2 baths i'm about to do another one. i know it seems a bit much..but he reaked kinda like a grabage can. i thought my yorkie princess would be mean to him pushy /jealous but she seems to acept him already no being mean nipping or anything they play a little she keeps an eye on him! anyways this puppy book has a coupon in it! purina will send me a check for $25 made out to my vet for goods & services! all i have to do is fill out info on this thingy and send in 40lbs worth of weight seals from purina puppy foods incl.pro plan puppy, purina one growth develo puppy,or purina puppy chow off the food bags. well i have this one from the 6.5oz th vet gave me and i know that will last for months for this little guy! the offer expires in dec and that $25 coupon would pay for a set of my new puppys shots! my question is if you have any of these weight seals from these purina products could you cutt them out and send them to me? i would be happy to pay for stamps ,envelopes to send them ! thought i would ask as everyone here is so helpful and nice ! i'll post pics later today of the new puppy!i hope all goes well for this little guy! thanks for reading my extremly longggg post! |
HI, I cant wait to see pics of your new baby. DO you have a name yet? (I'd send you seals if I had them but I buy nutro) :) |
Ohhh baby! I cant wait for pictures! ..No seals here, we get chicken soup :D |
I have a 6lb. bag of pro plan small breed, which I no longer use. I can send you the whole bag (with or without the contents) if that is what you are looking for. Pm if interested. :) |
Oh, and congratulations on your new baby!!! |
thanks everyone !! oh i haven't picked a name yet but i like dooney & payton. |
Don't have any seals here either but just wanted to congratulate you on your newest addition. My Tiger was on Purina when I got him and I don't know much about food then. I have switch him to Innova after a month as my boss's wife suggested he needs to eat better . . . .and although they cost so much more, they don't really eat much so it was worth the investment. I couldn't be happier! |
I have a container of Purina Puppy that I'm no longer using. I, too, got it from my vet before I started learning all there is to learn. I can send you the container if you'd like. Congrats on your new addition! |
Congrats on your new puppy. I have one weight seal you can have. I may have more to come later. I still have 5 puppies at home. Give me your address and I will send it to you. |
Congrats on your new baby. I don't have any seals here, but be careful of bathing him so much, you might irritate his sensitive skin and have problems in the future with the skin flaking or dull coat. |
i usually bathe my princee once a week or unless she gets dirty i just had to wash him becuase he was really stinky! here are some pics. he has a lot of black on his face his momma was a dark yorkie black & mahogany or burgandy a little dark to call tan i think he will stay dark. he kinda looks like a yorkie poo to me though. he's akc yorkshire is what he was sold to me as! princess1 blue & gold? and new male puppy http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/2275/img20688bc.th.jpg http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/8397/img20639co.th.jpg sun-kis(sed)t http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/5...20703wm.th.jpg princess mugg(ed) when she was a baby http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/773...11603za.th.jpg |
So, you bought a puppy at 6 weeks? I'm confused. |
Congrats! Congrats on your new baby! I am confused as well...is your puppy six weeks old? I thought that was a little young for the breeder to sell. Be careful with too many baths in one day or even one week. Diamond will get stressed out sometimes when I give her two many baths and will shake for a little. I give her some Nutrical (sugar supplement) just to be on the safe side incase her sugar gets too low. Also, too many baths can also irritate the skin and cause flaking as someone already mentioned. You may want to think about switching the puppy off of Purina in the near to distant future. It's a good puppy food but there are others that are a lot better for him/her. Personally, I have been using Royal Canin and I have heard nothing but good things about it. Eukenuba is good too. |
i have eukanuba small breed but the purina is what the vet gave me yes the puppy is 6 weeks too young but it seems most the breeders around here do that which i don't get it they shoud wait to at least 8-12 weeks! espically for smaller dogs! |
