Eyes running alot I have a question. I took Maddie to the groomer the other day. The groomer said here eyes run alot. All hair has been trimed but still running alot. Any suggestions. Should I take her to the vet???? She is about 14 weeks. Sometimes it keeps her face wet???? Thanks for the help. :p |
Is this normal... My other yorkie Parkers hardly ever run. Maddies have no color to it.. just like water. Thanks!!! |
eyes As pups, it is not uncommon for the eyes to run..teething effects the eyes tc...make sure there so on hair botehring the eyes. As they get closer to 6 months the eye should be moist, but not making the face wet..if it does, have the vet flush the tear ducts with they are being spayed/neutered or having any retained puppy teeth pulled...best wishes |
My little boys also run alot!! My little yorkie is 5 1/2 mths now and his eyes have always run alot. Especially when I take him outside to play in the heat. His little face will be soaked by the time we come in. My other 2 little dog's eyes don't do this. He just started teething this week so maybe once he has his permanent teeth the drainage will slow down. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. |
Personally I would take him to the vet. I was told to look for that when buying yorkies and to stay away from any yorkie with runny eyes. Take him to the vet. |
I guess I'll call the vet to see what he thinks. I wonder what could be causing it? |
I read a post on YT from someone who said that when they changed their yorkie's food that its eyes stopped running. Maybe you could try that  If Hobbs eyes ever run, I just cut the hair from out of his eyes and then they stop. |
eyes Clear tearing is normal in a puppy, some more then others, but have the vet check to be sure...you never want to ignore a yellow dicharge..but teething will make the eye water, especially on a shot muzzled face.....it will stop by 6 months if it is the teeth...good luck |
She does have the cutest little short muzzle. Thanks for all the help!!! |

Wouldn't that mean they had some kind of eye or sinus infection? My little guys drainage is always clear. He is going through major teething this week. All except one of his little front teeth just fell out. Poor little guy. I feel bad for him. He isn't eating like he normally does either. I hope his permanent teeth grow in quickly. |
yellow means an infection (just like in humans) |
Jaxon is almost 9 months and he still has a lot of eye goobies. I've been reading about dried beet pulp in food and how that may be part of the problem with eye stains. I'm slowly switching him over to Merrick canned food. Hopefully it will help. |
I am feeding Diesel the Nutro Natural chicken and rice with oatmeal. Any other suggestions on what else I should try. Diesel's eyes always run. Especially when he is outside playing. Michelle |
