Piper limping... Hi everyone, I haven't been on YT for awhile and was happy and saddened upon reading many of the posts that I have missed...many new blessings but also some deeply sad losses. My heart goes out to many. I am posting about Piper. We went to the vet this past Saturday for his yearly boosters and physical. I have been noticing that when Piper runs he tends to lift his rear left leg and hobbles around. My initial thought was hip dysplasia but the vet doesn't think that is it. He had me feel up under Piper's hind legs to where his lymph glands are and the one on left side is about the size of a pea and the one on the other side is barely there. So he has a swollen lymph node that the vet thinks may be causing pain, which could be why he's been limping. He sent us home with antibiotics (which I quickly learned not to give him on an empty stomach :sickie: ) and the vet will check him again in a few weeks. I am scared that the antibiotics may not solve the problem. If they don't than he will have an x-ray taken. I am just so afraid that it may be something more serious. Anyone else have anything similar happen with their furbabies? My Piper is only 15 months old and way to young to be hobbling around. Thanks! |
I pray that all will go well with Piper - and for you as you wait for answers. It is so difficult when these helpless little babies are hurt or sick and we can do little except wait it out! |
