I tried emailing her on this ad ... http://www.domesticsale.com/Classifieds/57110.html That was on June 21... She had stated in the ad that she does not ship,so I asked... "Since I would be driving from Chicago I may want to get more than one pet. What other animals do you have available? Also if I bought a few could I get a better price?" I Still have gotten no response and it's been a few days now. So I guess she is either on to all the questions lately, or she doesn't really care much about making any money (which I doubt), or she just doesn't answer her Domestic Sales Ads ! I really did think about getting the older female , I feel so sorry for her, for all of them really. If she gets back to me I will let you know. :usaheart: Key2Yorkies ~ Jan |

Update- This Is Unbelievable!! Hi! I have been obsessively driving by this store waiting for information on where she is moving to, so I can be there on opening day to picket! Tonight I did my usual drive by and lo and behold she had a NEW sign up- you all will LOVE this- It said : We are downsizing and have decided not to move. We are selling most of our inventory (like the puppies are some kind of comodity- not living, breathing things!) so that we do not have to buy from puppy mills and also to reduce the risk of infections and kennel cough. (gee- I would feel so comfortable buying a puppy from her- NOT!) She still has the baby male yorkie - now the price is $750.00 but she makes sure to state that he will be under 5lbs. I don't know what the heck to do. I really would like to go there and give her a piece of mind but somehow I think she is clueless and uncaring enough to not really care what I say. Please let me know your thoughts!! |

Suggestions Hey, I can sympathize, I've heard some really terrible horror stories. I'd like some suggestions, I've had a plan in the works for some years now of a pet store of my own, and I just can't stand the really terrible conditions (and just plain stupidity) of most pet stores. What I want is a list of the things people hate about pet stores. From the terrible health conditions, right down to not keeping your favorite cat litter in stock. I really adore animals, and I want to do things right. A list of things to never do is even better than a list of things to do right. |

There is NO right way to sell dogs or cats in a pet store. It is abuse pure and simple. No reputable breeder would ever sell her dogs to a pet store, so the only way they get them is from puppy mills and back yard breeders. We always could use some more pet supply stores though -- with lots of premium food choices, grooming supplies, and of course lots of pretty clothes, carriers, and beds. I am sure you could make a good living with a pet store like that. If you wanted to sell fish & birds, that would be okay. Just be careful where you get your birds from too. My mom really had to be careful and go out and meet the bird breeders. She also went to all of the bird shows. Birds are kept in small cages, fish in tanks -- so you can easily sell them without abusing them. My mom actually got to be so good with bird health, the vets would rely on her experience! She was the "go to bird lady!" :) So -- Never, Never, Ever, sell a dog or cat in your pet store and be careful to ensure the health of fish & birds. Keep the place extra clean and pest free. Check in to Yorkietalk from time to time to see new and innovative products. People here will find it if it is available and yorkies need or want it. :) |

Breeder warnimg Just bought a very sick puppy from this lady. She is working out of her house now. Also she is using her husband as the contact name and number and their home address. This puppy cost us $712 [emergency vet visit 9 hours after picking the puppy up] on top of the $350 she charged us. We drove a total of 9 hours to get him. We would not buy from them again, but are glad that we saved our puppies life. DO NOT BUY FROM Lisa Mccoy or Joe Green???? [not sure this is his real name] 216 Lewis Place Massillon, Ohio 44646  |
