Do you use vitamins and/or supplements? I apologize for posting this twice. I originally posted it in the Diet section but only got one response and wanted a few more. I was looking at a Doctors Foster & Smith catalog and they have several vitamins and supplements. They have a Lifestage Select for small breeds I like that it has the Omega 3 Fatty Acids and natural fish oils as well as antioxidants and calcium. Is it overkill if you are feeding them a premium dog food? Cali is a very picky eater so I would like to know that she is getting all that she needs. I myself am a vitamin junkie but do not want to put any unnecessary strain on her system as she is so small (will be 3 to 3.5 lb full grown). She is 5 months now. If you do recommend vitamins, which do you use and how early can you start them. Thanks for the advice. |
I learned about the supplement called Missing Link on YorkieTalk. I was looking for something to help with Hobbs' dry, itchy, flaky skin. Not only has it dramatically helped his skin, but he has so much more energy and I just think he feels better overall. I know a lot of people on YorkieTalk use Missing Link and love it! Here is the website: http://www.designinghealth.com/produ...ucts_main.html Hobbs is such a picky eater and he absolutely loves Missing Link. He licks it off his food sometimes. :p |
Thanks for the reply. Patti also recommended Missing Link. I will have to give it a try. Thanks for the advice. |

what I use I am big into holistic care. I use Shaklee Vita Lea (1/4 two times a day with homecooked meal), one omega 3 for brain development, and a pinch of a seaweed supplement and shaklee's flavomax and pinch of acidopholis. I give 1/4 shaklee liver dtx once a month to clean out. He gets two drops of black walnut 5 days a week during mosquito season and a heartworm nosode for heartworm prevention. I also like Dr. Bob's Heatlhy Nuggets and use those sometimes in addition or in place of. suz |
Missing Link! I just started using it because Timmy's coat was dry. It's been only 1 week and I already notice a difference. I also give it to Mimi. |

If you order it, get the 8oz bag. You have to keep it refridgerated and whatever is leftover after 3 months should be thrown out. With the 8oz bag, there shouldn't be too much left after 3 months. |
thank you |
I use Missing Link too |

I give "Brewers Yeast with Garlic". It also repells fleas. I do not treat for fleas in any other way (no Frontline, etc.) and we are FLEA FREE. The Brewers Yeast is from Walmart (only Walmart product I buy for my Yorkies) and is an 8-in-one vitamin. Stinky little pills that the dogs love and are convinced it is a treat:D . |
