Males Who Are Not Neutered I'm cusious about something ... 1. If you have a male that is not neutered, can he be potty trained or will he always mark around the house? 2. If you have a male (not neutered) that is used for breeding, can he be potty trained or will be mark around the house? PS - I am not a breeder and I have no intention of ever becoming a breeder. I'm only asking out of sheer curiousity. :) |
Tiger is unaltered but will soon be in a few months, unless I change my mind again. He is really good with the pad but only when he wants to. Sometimes he can be pretty bad at it. When I am home he sometimes get to roam freely the rest of my house and I see him trying to mark in a few spots as he does it all the time . . . luckily, he has his band so I am hoping when he is older and no longer marking (if there is such a thing) he won't know to go to that spot (ya think  ) since there is NO smell lingering . . . |
Georgie hasn't been neutered and he is potty trained. However, he is a sniffmeister, he drives me nuts (no pun intended) because he is always sniffing other dogs and trys to show his dominance and I think it has a lot to do with testosterone. |
Diesel isn't fixed and he has never marked inside the house. He is also going on 1 year old. Don't get me wrong he will mark everything in sight outside. Michelle |
Males marking territory My Ozzie never marked indoors until recently. He is not neutered. He became a father this year and we moved to a new home six months ago. So I do not know whether it was the new house or being bred. But I never had a problem before and he is a little over two years old. Tonia |

He was not neutered due to being to thin and having the possibility of kidney problems. His health is doing great and has now almost gained enough weight to be able to be nuetered. I'll keep you updated after about his marking. |
