What On Earth??!!? 2 Attachment(s) What on earth am I supposed to do with this thick hair that grows between Bo's eyes?? The groomer shaved it the first 2 times and the third time I asked her not to. But now it's so thick it looks like some kind of hair fan on the bridge of his nose. Is it supposed to be shaved? Or clipped? He can hardly see!! I'd appreciate any help anyone can give.... Please help! |
My rambo has the same problem except his hair isn't that thick. I"m trying to let his grow out cause the groomers cutt too much of it off so i'm going to let it grow to put it into a top knot. I do see that your bo has alot of hair though so maybe you can put the top half into a top knot and the other half i guess when it grows it won't be so fluffy and you can keep the rest of that hair as part of his facial hair. ( mustache) |
Once the hair grows longer it gets heavier and lays down better. Schatzie is going through the same process now. (She is almost there!!). You can have the brows cut shorter and grow out the top to have a top knot placement if you'd like or be patient while the hair grows long enough to pull up all the hair between the eyes for the top knot placement. It just takes patience I think. The hair atop the nose does grow long enough to lay down, again patience. Good luck. |
 Toto has the same problem ... groomer shaved up her nose after being asked not to! That was over a year ago and it's just now beginning to look halfway decent. When it grows long enough to be caught up in the topknot, the rest goes down into the mustache like Shatzie said. You have to be careful of the prickly hairs causing eye infection which is one reason I didn't want Toto's shaved. After yet another bad groomer experience last Friday ... if the vet we're seeing tomorrow can do the nail trimming, ear hair pulling and gland expression ... then Toto has a new groomer .... ME!! ;) I can do everything else but just don't trust myself to do those nails, ear hairs & gland! I told her the top of her ears didn't need anything done [I have been so careful getting it shaped and the longer hairs growing just right] and she shaved around the tips of her ears and evidently the scissors slipped on one of them and she left about a half inch of those beautiful little "plumes" sticking straight up!!! OMG ... I'm getting mad again ... sorry ... I'm going to my happy place now!! ;) |
Bettyeanne, when you get to your happy place can I call On-Star so I can get directions there too?? Sorry you've had such grooming nightmares. Thanks for the help everyone. I kinda figured it was a matter of patience and just letting it grow, just wanted to make sure. My husband keeps saying something needs to be done so Bo can see, but what does he know? I'm the one with the direct line to the experts: you guys!!! |
Carter's first groomer shaved his nose too and cut huge bangs. That was back in December. Its growing but I hate the fan as well. When I dry him, I put gel between his eyes to help the hair go upward. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. I can't wait until his bangs are long enough to get into the topknot. We've been using baby barrettes to keep it from falling over into his eyes. |
My friend puts a little vaseline on that hair and it weighs it down, just till it passes that awkward stage and is long enough to stay down on its own. By then it will be trained to stay down too.. good luck! |
She-ra does that too, it pokes her in the eyes, so I just sit her on the counter and snip it with scissors, she doesn't mind and it looks alot better. Her hair doesnt grow real fast, (I wish it did  ) so I dont have to do it very often!! |
Thanks for your replies everyone! It seems like groomers would know better than to shave that hair. It would either have to be shaved forever or bring on a difficult growing-out process. I thinks there's a poll on this subject too. Carter's Mom, is the gel hard to get off in the bath? Which kind do you use? |
