Suggestions Please! 2 Attachment(s) I love my baby and I think he is so cute but I just have a quick question for all you Yorkie talkers (since I know you will have the best suggestions for me). Murphy's hair is very nice but after looking at all the pictures on here his hair seems very thin and flat to me. Is there any way to get him to seem like he has fuller or thicker hair? I guess I am just looking for something that gives his hair more shine and a thicker coat. Like I said do not get me wrong I love him the way he is but just wondering if there are any supplements or products out there that do this. Thanks! I have attached a picture of him now. |
He looks fine to me:) he's adorable and the hair will come. Most of it is genetics - but a good shampoo and Conditioner will help.... and also - always bath him when he gets dirty - clean hair grows faster. |
No, he's beautiful! But I was reading a Yorkie book from Petsmart and it had a section in there talking about Yorkie's hair being similar to humans. They said (I have not done this) that your Yorkie's skin and hair may be able to use human hair products. The thing with using human products is I don't know that I wouldn't want to chance giving my baby a reaction just to get his hair thicker. Also, I would imagine if the shampoo gets into his eyes, it wouldn't be too comfortable. I don't know, just a thought! |
Cali doesn't have the best coat but I have been giving her the Missing Link Supplement and it's getting better. So much is genetics but diet can help. I think he ahs a very nice coat by the way. |
Caren, there is nothing wrong with Murphy's coat . . yorkie's are really silky soft and very thin . . .why would you want the opposite :D My Tiger was a bit coarse but after using Petsilk products especially the serum, it is where I want it to be . . .like a true yorkie. And their cologne are so wonderful Tiger gets double the kisses and hugs even more. The rainforrest collection is indeed awesome! |
I thinki he has a nice coat!:) :) :) |
Okay - I knew it was going to sound like I did not like his coat. Don't get me wrong I LOVE him and his coat - I was just saying that on pictures of other Yorkies some look like they have more hair or fuller coats that’s all. I do like his hair much more now that it is over that course puppy hair - that was so hard to brush but just wondering how to make it look a bit fuller. I have heard about that missing link stuff maybe I will try that. For example: I was looking at this thread earlier and her pups look like they have such FULL coats. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44250 Please understand I would not trade Murphy for the world....I was just being a curious first time Yorkie Mommy - thats all! Thanks! |

He's beautiful! You'll probably find that by the time he is a year or a little older that his hair will be quite a bit thicker though.;) He's just a baby. |
