How do you weigh your babies? I just finished weighing my Beanzie baby to see if she's gained any weight. I like to weigh her on my food scale because it has ounces (goes up to 5 lbs). She looked so funny sitting in the little tray! I was just wondering how other yorkie owners weigh their dogs. BTW ~ she weighed in @ 3lbs. 2 oz. :p |
My wife has been weighing him on the regular people scale. She'll weigh herself first and then weigh herself holding Guinness. Since we have a digital scale, she'll usually weigh herself a few times without him and a few times with him to ensure the most accurate weight. After having him weighed in the Vet's office, it looks like its a good system as the weight matches up pretty much dead on... |
I put Jack and Jill in a basket and then put them on a digital postal scale. That reminds me, Jill is due for a weigh-in.:aimeeyork |
I weighed Jewel on a digital food scale since she was so small and I get ounces on it. With Jazzie I use the hold em and weight us together method with Jazzie. Just like Unclepunk (love the user name BTW!) described. |
1 Attachment(s) I weigh Beauty on a food scale as well. I am thinking about going digital though, but the regular food scale seems to work perfectly. The one that I purchased from Target goes up to 6 and 1/2 pounds. See pic!!! Tameika and Beauty |
1 Attachment(s) Here's a picture of Beanzie~weenzie being weighed.:p Doesn't she look happy? lol. Now smile for mommy....:D |
A digital scale is a good idea...but not as funny!:p I should get one to weigh my bigger dog Jac! |
I too use a food scale. I find it is the best and most accurate way for me to weigh them. Here I was thinking I was the only one that weighs them on a food scale. Funny. |

How much does your baby weigh? |
:aimeeyork I use a digital postal scale. I bought it off of ebay. It weighs in ozs, lbs and ozs, gram, and some others I don't use. It is very acurate. I weigh them now about once a month, but I always weigh them right before a Vet visit. My scale and the Vet's are right on target! |
I get on the scale and weigh myself then I get on wth them. Then I subtract and get their weight. |
I weigh everyone under 5 lbs. on my Pampered Chef kitchen scale. I am thinking I need to get a postal scale, though, 'cause Chizziewink is tipping the scales at around 7 lbs. :D |
Stewie only gets weighed at the vet on her scale. |
I use a digital human scale, but I have to do math afterwards to convert tenths of a pound to oz. It kinda sucks, but it keeps me using my math skills. |
I weigh Kali on a postal scale. And Kobe only gets weighed at the vet now. |
I love Roxie's vet. Anytime I want to check her weight, all I have to do is drop by. I know PetSmart and PetCo here in my area has a scale for you to weigh your dogs but I don't know how clean they are. |

Kathie has a set of antique shop scales that are very accurate from 1oz to 10 lb. The top is only about 6" square, so I put a big stainless steel bowl (that weighs exactly 1 lb) on it and put her in it. Works great - but not nearly as great a picture as yours!!! |
Tank came back from the vet's on Wednesday and weighed 21lbs. and that made us want to see how much Lucy weighed.... So my husband brought out his fish scale... we cut four holes in a large dish rag and balanced tank in the middle to find out how much he weighed and then subtracted the weight of the dish rag from the weight of Lucy when we weighed her.... She's 6 1/2 lbs. I want her to get a little bigger though You can't tell were from the south hugh...... You might be a redneck if .... you weigh your dog on a fish scale...HAHA Crystal |
