Quick Introduction and Unrelated Question Hello - I've been lurking for a while now reading and learning. I adopted two rescue female yorkie mixs going on a month ago. At about 12-13 weeks, Roxy is 2.2 lbs and Ruby is 5.4. lbs They are delightful additions to our family and tremendous little girls. Originally we were going to adopt a retiring female or a young rescue yorkie but these little girls came our way and it obviously was meant to be!:) Roxy and Ruby's mother was supposed to have been a pedigree yorkie who met a gentleman caller who never left his calling card... other than a litter of three female pups. The yorkie's owner is supposed to have taken the litter into the humane society in Kentucky out of shame. Lucky for me, the shelter had no room and put the pups on a truck for transport and were fostered in NJ. Except for Ruby's larger size, their larger floppy ears - and Roxy's liver/black nose... they are very, very Yorkie! I'm wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a way to research for historical information on a particular breeder and/or show history for a yorkie breeder from Scotland. Here is the kicker - he would have been breeding/showing between about 1900 - until close to 1940's! All I have is his name/address - I don't know any of the dogs names but supposedly they were shown all over Britain and maybe France. I'm hoping to be able to eventually track down a pup that can track it's lineage back to Dunoon, Argyll, SCT. Oh - and we are still open to adopting an older female yorkie once the girls are housetrained...... Cheers, |
Bless you! You have done a wonderful thing in adopting these little girls and I'm sure they will be forever greatful. I'd love to see pictures. We have a adopted female and she is a great pal to our male-they are inseperable. Good luck with your babies. I'm sorry I can't help with tracing the breeder you are looking for-best of luck. |
