Doh! I've already joined. What I mean is... can I join in?

My name is Lorrie, I live in Greenwich (UK) but I'm nobody's Mum yet. :cry:
I lived with 2 yorkies many years ago, but my own Mum did all the hard work. Later I owned several large dogs and was quite successful at training difficult dogs - or, I should say, at training their owners ;) . Now I'm retired, (early, I'll have you know), widowed about 18 months ago and living alone. I'd love to have another heart (or two) beating about the place.

I'm in no rush. I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing for me and will do the right thing by my new best friend(s). I started reading and surfing about Yorkies several months ago. Now I've found this forum. What a great place - I've been accustomed to fora for IT Techie types, don't ask :tongue5: . But you are all so lovely, it's such a refreshing change - professional, informative, empathetic and fun - I had tears rolling down my face laughing at the caption thread at 3am this morning. I am addicted.

What more can a wannabee Yorkie Mum ask for? I promise I'll search the forum first, but I expect I'll have lots of questions that may have already been answered - hope you don't mind.

By the way... this forum has far more smilies than I've ever seen on one forum before. I am in danger of over-dosing but kudos to the Admins :clapsmile

Welcome!!! Once you start looking at all the adorable Yorlies on here you will wan to run right out and get your own!!! By the way it is addicting being on here. Forget clean houses it is much more fun to be on here. I am sorry to hear about your spouse passing on. I too am an early retiree! Loving every minute of it.

We are a big Yorkie loving family!
I think it's great your doing research first.
But I must be honest, when I found this site, I couldn't stop looking, I love it.
It's a fun loving site, and yes, I too have had many tears here,
both very happy and some very sad, but together we pull through it all.
We are a family who really cares. Oh I love the smilies too.:D :D :D

Just to let you know.. I did the exact same thing... I was wondering what type of dog to get (already have 3 Lhasa Apsos) and saw a beautiful female yorkie one day at the sore wit her mommy..and just knew that was the kind of dog for me.... I started researching Yorkies and stumbled on this site (LOVE YALL... I am addicted to all the INFO).. Although I wasnt as brave as u ..(joining before I had a pup..never thought about it really LOL)

Anyways... Now I have my lil Roxy.. And i LUV LUV LUV her so much... there is something about the personalities of yorkies that I just cant explain.... She is truly as much like a human as i think a pup can get...

A couple of times I have noticed someones (cant remember whos) signature on here that says "Yorkies are like potato chips... U cant have just one" I TOTALLY agree with that... I luv having Roxy wit me all the time and might one day soon get another ....(Ive been hinting to the Hubby!!! Then I have the kids do it ..HA HA HA evil I know!)
