Please help me decide I need help in deciding about a pup. My breeder has 2 females, one substantially smaller that the other. The smaller on is more timid than the larger one. Bailey is pretty aggressive with her kitty sisters and I worry about her around a small pup. But, on the other hand is it good to match a little more timid dog with one with a strong personality so one can be pack leader immediately and if they both have strong personalities, will there be world war 3????? What do you think? HELP!!! |
First of all let me say what a Cutie! Second of all go with the flow and get the one you like the best! You probably should get the more timid one but wait until he is a little bigger so your pup wont mistake him for a toy?! :animal36 |
my suggestion is to take Bailey to the breeder and see whom he picks  Girls are so much more fun . . .especially on the "dressing them up" part . . . |
Actually, my Bailey is a girl. so she will have a little sister. I would love to have her decide but we are having the new puppy transported for us. We live in Northern Manitoba and live about 7 hours away from any civilization!! |
how old are the pups? |

Thats a hard decision, i had a yorkie called Boo-Boo and he was a strong character,he was a month younger than Duchess and he came into our home a couple months after I had Duchess. He bullied her and she turned into a petrified little girl, she wouldn't play or eat.In the end I had to re home Boo-Boo and Im pleased to say Duchess is 100% happy and confident now. I would deffinatley go for the bigger girl :) |
Hi there and welcome to YT. I would visit them as often as possible and let them choose you. I have found for me it is the best way. Good luck. |
I would have to say that it is all a chance game. I have had one two dominating ones and one timid and one dominating one at the same time. The timid one got along great with the dominating one. The two dominating ones that got together did not do so well and work constantly fighting. But as yorkie7 said you could even have it the other way where she would be petrified of the dominating one. Every yorkie has a different personality so there is no way of knowing which one to get, just go with your instinct and the one you like the most. |
Just because the small one is timid now doesn't mean it will be when it gets older. Polly is less than three pound, 1 year 4 months now and was so timid when she was little. Now she is a little yorkie terrorist, she bosses the other three around , two weigh twice as much as she does, and Sprout is smaller and she is always bossing him around. I would pick the one that tugs at my heart. |
Thanks Just wanted to thank you all for your advise. I haven't made up my mind yet. I'm waiting for the breeder to give me their current weights. I'll let you all know. |
