Types of Yorkie Haircuts? I am taking Bachee to get his first haircut tomorrow. I don't know what to ask for though. What are different types of haircuts given to Yorkies? Also, is it OK to drop him off and pick him later since it's his first time? Any input on what was done by others on their first visit to the groomers will be helpful. Thanks. |
1 Attachment(s) Well do you like short hair or want to grow it long? How old is he? My groomer did my new pup right away so she didn't have to stay there so long. Did you tell them it was a new puppy? I like the puppy cut personally cause I am hot here so I think my baby is hot. Here is a fresh puppy cut on my girl Kim but she has a lot of thick hair. If you baby has thinner hair this cut might not look good. |
There is a big difference in cuts. I think you should take a picture with you. Princess has the summer cut right now, it's a very short cut, because she's in the pool for most of the summer. Her hair grows fast, so just when we are going into fall her coat is back. The first time Princess went, I stayed with her, she couldn't see me, but I was there, after that, I was always close by so they could call my cell 5 min, before she was done.:) |
I always send Ginger with a list of things I want done and if you had a picture that would be even better. Try not to be too vague in your description of the cut. Like a “short puppy cut” could send you home with a shaved dog. |
Bachee is 12 months old. He has thin long hair. I don't want it shaved so I will be sure and tell them that. I hope they let me stay there while they work on him because I am a bit nervous for him. I know he hates it when I bathe him so a wash and cut will be very stressful for him. Where can I find a good website with Yorkie haircut pictures? |

Haircut Hey Lilly, Fagan gets cut short for summer because he loves to be outside and it gets so hot. I would think you could find a groomer to accomodate you if you want to stay. Definately bring a picture so you don't get a big surprise! I posted pics of Fagan in a thread called My Summer Cut. Good luck and post pics so we can see how handsome he looks! |

Hi, I'm new to the site. Was searching around trying to find a short haircut I liked. I've been to so many groomers and they never give Jodie a good short haircut for the summer. Last year I went to one and he said he was giving her a "yorkie" cut. Here is what it looked like...yikes. Isn't that a schnauzer cut? I hated it. Now it's almost grown in but her hair is not the straight silky type, it's kinda of puffy and course.
