I need a little advice on grooming
 
Ok I'm probably crazy for doing this but I've decided that I'm going to groom Reagan myself. I say that I'm crazy b/c I've never cut anything or anyone's hair, but I read on the web "its just hair it'll grow back". So I figured what the heck I'll learn and if I never do then I'll take her to a pro. Anyway my question is should the hair on the insides of her front legs(basically where they meet her belly) be cut. I was reading one site that was talking about the schnauzer cut to cut it but when it was talking about leaving the hair long not to. She does tend to get mats there and I didn't know if I should cut it or not. Also if anyone know of any good books that go over grooming (mainly cutting) please let me know. I have one book on yorkies but nothing really on cutting. A good website wouldn't hurt either. Thanks.

I know there are some great videos on the market on grooming yorkies. You might try to find those. I thought they were referenced on this forum under a previous thread. You might try a search and see if you find anything. Good luck!

You can take all the hair off underneath..down the belly and insides of the legs, armpits etc...if you don't like it, it grows back very fast. It will be so clean and not get matted.

Don't worry , you will be able to cut your little one's hair .

I have learned to cut Zsa Zsa's hair by looking in the video that was with the clipper when I bought it .

Take my word , if I am able to cut a Yorkie's hair you will be able too .

yeah i cut toby's hair too..... its really easy, and a great bonding experience.... the first time i cut it a little tooshort, but now im really good at it..... the first time took me an hour, and now i can groom in about 15-20 minuits (that was my first time with clippers too :p i had never cut anyones hair either)

Yesss...practice makes perfection huh? It is sooo much fun, i personally LOVE grooming Mojo, it is really a super bonding experience:)
