We went for a nice drive yesterday ... my little car with the top down ... really enjoyable!! Drove up to the "Colorado Monument" ... it was absolutely breathtaking!! Then we stopped at the "Visitor's Center" .... it was nothing spectacular ... been to much nicer!! They wouldn't let Toto come in!!! There was no food present ... just souveniers, brochures, etc. which I had already decided to purchase lots of for the kids ... guess what?? When they refused to let Toto come in, Patrick went in and picked up a few "free" brochures and I took Toto back to the car! However I feel I should thank the "witchy" lady at the Visitor's Center because not only did she save me big bucks .. but .. she caused me to "maintain" because I refused to allow her to cause me to lower myself to throw my gum wrapper in her parking lot, nor my cigerette butt on the ground [I know that's a bad habit but it keeps me from beating people up!], nor did I throw Toto's poop down hoping she would be the one to step in it!!! :) If we ever get training for Toto to be Patrick's service dog for his extremely high blood pressure, that visitor's center will be our second stop!! ;) |
As already mentioned, it is an insurance liability for companies...if an animal were to bite someone. And also mentioned, there is mention of the "service dog". Some people are allergic to dogs...but you also have to realize...some people are deathly AFRAID of dogs. Maybe they were bitten or scared as little kids, who knows. But as much as we all hate it when people do not allow our "pets" into certain establishments,...we must also respect the fact that some people are psychologically afraid/uncomfortable around dogs. Just thought I would bring this up as no one mentioned it so far. Here is one incident that occured not too long ago. We were seated in the outdoor area of a sushi restaurant, and a patron asked if we could sit a bit further away as she claimed to be afraid of dogs. Despite the fact that she was a bit rude in the way that she said it,...we still respected her wishes. Another time, we were in a mattress store...and the sales rep told us that she was afraid, and asked that we hold our dog. We did...and she kept a 5-foot distance from us at all times. |

So far I have been asked only once to take Asia outside. It was a sports bar and I was only going to be there a minute. The bartender was very nice about it. I know they serve food so I had to leave after I picked up my order. I don't mind if people tell me I have to leave with her as long as they are nice about it. There is not reason to be rude. You are all welcome to bring your babies to my office any time. Asia is the greeter here. |
I got kick out of Walmart as well too!!! I happened 6 years ago when just I bought first puppy. I took him in the store to find a collar and leash for him. It was a very quick stop. Manager caught me at the cash register paying for my collar and leash. Told me very rudely that dogs are not allowed and not to bring him back anymore. |
Just tell them that your "dog"...is your "seeing eye dog". After that, walk into something. haha. (Sorry guys, but my gf and I were cracking jokes about this all weekend when going to certain stores w/ our yorkie). |

Oh, this reminds me of a beer commerical I watch a while ago. The commercial was about a person walking his dog and he stops in front of a bar and this bar has a "no dog allowed" sign on the door so this person put his dog on his head as a wig so he can go into the bar for a drink! Have anyone see it. I thought it was so funny. |
Oh yeah! I could make a really cute yorkie hat! |
