Will she ever stop? Since Tinkerbell was a baby she has always ruined our bed comforters. Before she goes to sleep she wants to suck and chew on them, leaving teeth holes and sometimes really big holes if I don't catch her right away. (I know it's a comfort thing for her) She doesn't do it near as much as she used to, but she still does do it often. Well tonight she put a hole in my brand new couch. I am upset with her. We have never been able to afford a new couch and I finally saved enough to pick out this beautiful couch...and what is the first thing she does? Chews a hole in one of the back pillows. :( Any ideas of what I could do to get her to stop? |
Eeks! Have you tried spraying Bitter Apple on any comforters or pillows in the past? Is there maybe something else she can chew on such as a stuffed animal that's always out or easily accessible by her? Luckily, Yoda just grew out of chewing on stuff. I hope Tinkerbell does as well... :) |
My wiener dog did this til she passed at the age of 15yrs, never furniture just blankets and sheets. It was very upsetting then but now I come across one of those in the stack now and then and it gives me a smile.:) |
Perhaps find a blanket that she chewed on in the past (and obviously likes) and cut it down to a smaller size and put this near her when she's going to bed or for naps. I'm thinking that perhaps she'll chew on this instead. (I'm not sure of this, just thinking that it could be something that you may want to try). Topher has done this to one decorative pillow on my bed. It's velvet, so perhaps he loved the softness, I don't know, but he has all of the corners chewed and sucked on. He still prefers that to anything, so it's officially his pillow now. |
