i wasnt worried for a second, i thought the worst that could happen is i got kicked out of the place, but they werent going to arrest me LOL i do think that when i go to the movies i have to go when there arent a lot of people around because i did noticed: when people walked by he growled at them a little (but only happened twice and i just gave him a treat and he forgot) but i assume if more people were around, it wouldnt be so easy, i also sugest coming in when the movie is about to start so dogs dont get fuzzy. the movie wasnt so good, the special effects were good but i was hoping for more it was different than the original but not better for sure. |
I would want to take my dog to the movies...that'd be awesome! But other people did pay to see the movie, and I never had to listen to a dog bark doing a movie, but I've had to listen to people bring in little kids who aren't old enough to sit through the movies that they were brought to, and they cry and talk the whole time. Iknow that annoys me, so I wouldnt bring a dog. |
What bags/purse/carrier do you carry your babies in. I have one, but I would think someone could tell that it was a dog bag with a dog in it. So what do your dog bags look like to where you can't tell that it is for a dog or has a dog in it??? |

LOL because the bag i use totally doesnt look like a dog bag, in fact, even when he is exposed (you can see his head) people + hink he is a stuffed animal! LOL this is the bag i usually carry him in: http://www.wagwear.com/catalog/detail.asp?id=cat43&x=15 it looks like an ordinary messenger bag all i do is put a sweater over it and keep my hand caressing his head so he knows i am there and he just stays there scooped up and very quiet. that bag is a top seller in new york because he can seat in two positions and is quite comfortable and because it has a harness attachment and a security belt he cannot get out :) |
Thanks, I will have to look for one here!! |
Ok, so I would love to be able to take Matthias with me everywhere. I hate the times when I have to leave him at home. But there are laws for a reason. It really perturbs me to hear folks say that they know dogs aren't allowed but are encouraged to sneak their dogs in anyway. Could I get away with sneaking Mattie in everywhere? Yes. Would I? Not a chance when I know they have a no pet policy. Why? Have you ever stopped to consider that there may be someone in the proximity that is allergic to dogs? Some allergies are so severe that just being in the proximity of these beautiful animals is enough to set off full blown attacks. Is it really worth it to you to know that you have caused this person a health issue just because you couldn't leave your Yorkie for two hours? I'm not one to sit here and preach at folks. In fact, I barely post in this board anymore at all, even though I do read it every day. But this post is close to me because while I have Mattie, I also have family members and friends that are allergic to dogs. I don't bring Mattie to them and they obviously don't meet at my place. It's called basic common courtesy. To hear the post started out with words like "sneak" and then followup comments from others here using the phrases "if you can get away with it, go for it!" really sits wrong with me. We are supposed to be community of RESPONSIBLE Yorkie owners. And to deliberately break the rules (or laws) just so that you don't have to leave your Yorkie for a small period of time is just wrong. Do you sneak your dog to work? To school? I want to go to the movies too. I want to be able to do it more often than I do but with a disability that just isn't possible. But when I can, while I hate leaving my Mattie home, I'm not about to put someone else's health at risk just so I can cuddle with my baby boy during a movie that will come out on DVD in 6-9 months anyway, when I can watch it at home, snuggled on my recliner with a blanket, popcorn, dog treats, drink of my choice, and privacy. I'm sorry for the rant, and the mods can go ahead and delete this or reprimand me if they want. I don't care. But I had to say it if no one is going to. I hope you did enjoy the movie, as it's one I want to see as well. But there is no movie out there worth the cost of someone else's health or even a fine that will cost more than the DVD when it comes out. |
I don't know if I agree that you would be risking someone else's health quite to that extreme but I do see Carinhosamulher's point. When I had children there were a few things I couldn't do as easily for a while. One of them was go to a movie. That's life. You can't leave a baby in the kitchen with food and water. But you can certainly leave a puppy alone for a couple hours. Don't get me wrong, I am as guilty as the next yorkie mom of taking my little ones into innappropriate places at times but it's usually not planned. More likely just a situation that comes up that can't be avoided. I recently saw a dog at the movies. It was a Bichon and the woman was not hiding it at all. The dog literally was standing on her lap with his front paws on the seat in front of her watching the movie. It was hilarious! When the movie was over she put his leash on him and walked out, no questions asked. I have never seen a "no dogs" sign so maybe it wasn't against any rules anyway. Or maybe he was a certified therapy dog. |

i neither have seen a no dog sign. the reason why they dont accept dogs if simply because they may bark and bother others... with kids they cannot do that (babies) and people put up with it because htey have to i guess.... i asked someone in the movies if it was ok to bring a little dog before i went, they said soft of you didnt hear this from me, but if it is quiet sure, just dont flaunt it because other patrons may complaint to remove it. i have never seen someone with an allergy to dogs that had to be carried out on a strecher... sorry but dogs arent peanuts they dont send people to intensive care. it may be irresponsible but i was seating alone, there were 6 people in that place and none closer than at least 5 rows to me in all distances. i did after all go to the 12 pm show!!! i have no plans to stop taking my yorkie to wherever places i manage to... yes... sneak himin, i take him to my french lessons, i take him to the hair salon and , i see no shame in that, if anything people love to see my little boy, even at the movies they kept saying "look at the little dog"..... if people were a little more accepting i wouldnt have to but thats how the cookie crumbles, is a very personal choice and mine is to take mine if and when necessary... if i am going to start worrying about everyone with an allergy my dog is never leaving home then? different strokes for different folks. i am not irresponsible in my view, but then again, i dont have to answer to anybody. |
