It 4 Attachment(s) 's been a year since Gus came home from the hospital after being attacked by a 75 - 80 lbs German Shepherd. For those who do not know, on the 27th of last year I came very close to losing my baby. Due to the fast reaction of my husband getting him to the emergance vet and of course much prayer by family and friends, he pulled off a miracle where even the vets said that it was not likely he would survive the night. Here he is a year later. His hair almost all grown to where it was before the accident. He has no complications what so ever (besides a few scars that you can't even see) He was only 2.9lbs at the time! And now at 3.1lbs, he is healthy and strong. I thank my lucky stars he proved everyone wrong! Even me myself did not think he was gonig to pull through but was not going to give up. It took him a total of 4 days to come home and about a month to heal. And heal he did! 1, This is the 2nd day in the hospital, still not able to stand on his own, But his lungs were working on their own but still had quite a bit of fluid in his chest. 2, This is him home and after taking off his bandage off. He had 7 puncture wounds which only 3 needed stitching. The damaged that was done was due to being crushed not enough to break any bones thank God! 3 & 4, This is him today,,,, 3.1lbs and a healthy and happy little boy! (and very spoiled I might add) |
I am very glad that Gus is doing well . He is beautiful . Thank you for sharing the pictures . |
Oh I'm sorry that happened to Gus but he looks stronger than ever :D What an adorable little boy, ahem I mean Man dog :p |
I am so sorry that you, your family and Gus had to go through that. However, I am so happy that he pulled through and is doing great:thumbup: He is a very handsome little Yorkie Boy! |
So glad you had a positive outcome. Thanks for sharing the story and the pics. |
Wow - that is so scary! I am sooo glad to see Gus healthy and happy. Out of the blue a few weeks ago my vet said - no matter how friendly a large dog seems do not let her down with them.. She said it only takes an instant and they can grab the little dogs and shake them. She even said it can be a friendly dog that does it in friendly way - that they just want to play. That being said I believe I have insulted some people at the park when I have picked up Punkin when their big dogs come charging over. They holler over don't worry he/she is very friendly/gentle and when I don't put her down they look at me like they are insulted. This is a good reminder that no matter how insulted they may be -I really need to protect my furbaby. Punkin sends some kisses to gus :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: |
