Pet insurance? Does anyone have pet insurance for their yorkie(s)? I was thinking about getting it now while Oscar is still young and healthy, but can anyone tell me if it's worth it - as in, would I really ever end up getting anything back? |
I have VPI superior plan. I pay about 21.00 a month. In the 9 months that I have had Cali I have had over 5,000.00 in vet bills they reimbursed 850.00 so nor bad since i paid 180.00 in premiums. They would have paid more but Cali had a preexisting condition that she had quite a bit of expenses for (hypoglycemia) and a genetic condition that they don't cover. Over all I think it is worth having. So much can happen and most people can afford 20.00 a month. |
If you look at my previous posts concerning pet insurance, you will see how much it has helped. We have had some major and minor incidences since Lola became part of our family. We have the superior plan with VPI also and it costs us about $30 a month. In one claim, we received $455. This was for a $1,200 er visit. Now it may not seem like a lot, but we will end up paying only a little over $300 this year. With this one claim, it has been worth it. We have sent many claims in and they have reimbursed us on very one. We are going to keep it. I think it is a great idea to have it. Even if you think your dog is healthy. I think that peace of mind is important and that you never know when accidents can happen. Good Luck! |
I just signed up at VPI today for both my furbabies . . . |
Here is a thread on VPI |
Thanks so much! I'm going to get some online quotes from a couple canadian companies! I think it's a good idea too! |
I have PetCare for Ginger and it’s very affordable at just $9.99 a month. It only covers the big stuff though, like car accidents, insect bites, and poison ingestion. The deductible is $75. |
