Urgh. It's just awful. I'm sorry to hear that you have to worry so much. We can't use mace here as it's illegal unfortunately. So far, we've not had any serious problems but I do carry a six inch break/blade stick with me. A friend of mine who is a vet got it from a policeman friend of his who used to use them on bulls when they were used in the police force (no longer allowed). Hopefully it will never come to it, but I've been instructed by my vet friend to sever the attacking bull's spinal cord if it gets hold of my dog. The only thing that can be done sadly for me to have any chance of saving Badger's life

I can't believe that pit bull came over the fence like that. That's just outrageous. I hope you reported it to your local law enforcement and dog control people. Really shouldn't be allowed

the owner of the dog works for the township so i can't do anything. i know he would get me back because he would get access to the police report. i called the cops and asked if i could make an anonymous report about a township employee and they said they could not stop him from seeing the report. it's like a moffia around here. he shouldn't have this aggressive dog at all. a normal citizen would have to remove the animal. mace is illegal here too. i'm too much of a wimp to stab or kick an animal so my fiance ordered me mace from ebay. you have to protect yourself.

That is absolutely disgusting that you can't make a report. That's just a fundamental erosion of your rights. I did notice some peculiar things when I lived in Boston too but I won't go into them on here. Suffice to say, I'm glad that you're carrying something with you. I also carry a studded belt with me and God help anyone that comes near my pup. I know I go on about it a bit but every single day walking him here is a nightmare. We have to watch out constantly and it's not fair that they should be allowed to get away with it. If the world was filled with just Yorkies, it would be heaven ;)

it sucks , but he is not stopping me from enjoying walks with my dog. i feel like it's my right to walk freely and safely in the neighborhood. it's a shame that people like this have to affect us. i worry these dogs will attack kids. i stay off his street. i tell kids and other people who walk their dogs to do the same.

I guess that's the most sensible thing to do. And you're 100% correct about your rights to walk your dog in relative peace and safety. I'm actually starting a campaign after I've moved into my new house to have all bulls and mastiffs round here muzzled and on four foot leashes. I'm just waiting to move into a new house on Wednesday and then I'm starting it. I'll post details up and links when it gets going. I've got lawyers advising me and the dog warden from the local council (they're fed up with it too) and a website designer for a website on it. I'm deadly serious about this and I will win. I'm sick of it and so are a lot of people round here. We had a 13 year old girl's three pound Yorkie savaged to death by a Staff up the road here a couple of weeks ago and the owner walked off. This poor girl had to not only get her dog out of this animal's mouth but then carry the body home. Disgusting
