I must be NUTS!! Do I care? No!! How many of you think I must be out of my mind, I'd like to know? We are purchasing a new house soon, and I have been ordering things here and there and just about where ever I can find them, to decorate my kitchen as Yorkie Style. Everything from cups & dishes, and pot holders to paper towel holders. Tea sets, everything I can find. Are there any other Yorkie crazed humans out there as me? To go as far as decorating your home around to babies you love? Yesterday is when I told fiance this is what we are theming our kitchen, Im gonna tell you, he said these exact words: "whatever you want, its your kitchen, but you realize that you are getting crazy & are losing your mind, you realize this right?" Am I? I dont think so. Oh well, just thought I'd see how many others theme their home around Yorkie collectibles, etc. I'd like to see some pics of some Yorkie Themed Kitchens...lol, :rollingey wonder if there is a sould alive that does this. :D I don't think you are crazy at all. Some people have ducks, cows etc in their kitchen what's the difference except you love Yorkies. Can't wait to see pics when you have it all done:) Good luck with the new house |

You are not nuts but a fanatic...well maybe border line nuts. But hey I say go for it as long as it doens't hurt anyone. You have to spend time in that kitchen so as long as you enjoy it then go for it. Congrats on the new house. Post pictures when you can. Hey someone on here paints yorkie tiles. You might want some to use as maybe a coaster or spoon rest or maybe to put on a back splash. The work was incredible. :aimeeyork |

LOOL, hey to each his own. I personally am not into decorating ************ (but I have a ton of Coco's pictures everywhere) but then again I've always been less into nicknacks, and more into simple modern flavor. I personally could never but I already get called crazy because I have almost 40 pictures of Coco in my office, and 3 of my boyfriend, 2 of my family  |
:bravo: I think it cute ! You are perfectly normal ! & I love themes ! of just about any kind ! I went sunflower crazy with my kitchen and my lil girls room is disney princess to the 10th power ! So I say go for it and dont forget to post pics I am sure it will look great !!!    |
Yorkie Style Oh, boy have you started a flood of memories for me.... I have been to a couple show breeders homes that were Yorkie from front to back... The late Zee Darasak of Cup'O'Luv was the first and her guest bathroom was Yorkie from the wall paper to the rugs, to the toliet seat, towels, soap, ... She had every collectable ever made I think...I have often wondered about it aftr her death.. BUT, the best one was an English breeder in Harpers Ferry, VA. She invited my friend and me when she planned to move back to London. We bought some of her Yorkie things.. The dining room was a master piece. The chairs had needlepoint Yorkies on the tapestry backs...one wall was painted with a mural of an English garden and all her Yrokies were playing in the garden..inside the china cabinet the back was a painted scene of her show Yorks and all the silver winnings/ribbons/certs were in that cabinet...but, the best of all was an area rug under the dining table with at least a 12 inch border of needle pointed Yorkies running all around the edge. She wanted $3000 for the rug..and that was 15 yrs ago. I still have a few of the figurines I bought from her...neither of us could afford that rug!!! When my UK friend died a few years ago, she left me her Sylvia Smith collection.. retired now. Sylvia used my friends Yorkies as models. I think I have 10 pieces...well, somewhere along the line the ears got "nibbled" off the Yorkies on a piece called.."The Yorkie Picnic"...I looked up Sylvia Smith on the net..and emailed her in Wales. She said all the molds were broken and most pieces were hand done and there were no more. She asked me to send her the piece and she would repair it... I got it back two months ago..brand new EARS....plus she put an orginial label on it..and said to insure it for $1500. Her note back to me said.." When I oponed the box and took out the piece, it was the first time in 20 years I have held it in my hands."..she thanked ME for sending it to her to repair. She told me about her work room and as she repaired the piece she was watching the lambs run across the moors...I am so sappy..when I opened the box, it smelled like England..I have it in the closet and sometimes I close my eyes, smell the tissue paper and I am a child again.....I know, I know, I need help!!! :P: |

if people can decorate their kitchens with chickens, you should be allowed to decorate with yorkies. |
What great memories, Pat! I once knew someone who collected pig tchotchkes... There were thousands of them all over her house. It was on overload!!! LOL Personally, I'd much rather have Yorkie overload!:p |
yorkies Do you want to hear something really unbelievable and freaky?? They have caskets (human) that you can have any image photograghed on to it..the material is like fiberglass. I saw one with the photo of a field of flowers on it..I asked the mortician about it..he told me he can blow up and transfer any pictures, theme, scene, hobby, you name it on casket...he has done alot of golf scenes for men. Who wants a Yorkie casket? LOL |
I would love to see pictures of a yorkie kitchen when it is done. I would collect all things yorkie if it was available. I have never seen much over here though. That house sounds amazing!! |
