That is strange. I would check at my vets to see if she is chiped if not then you have a new furbaby... |
maybe they stole it from someone out of some sort of revenge .Has me puzzled. |
hmmm, seems odd. I don't think she is stolen though, if they were to go through all the trouble of stealing her they would have sold her instead of giving her away for free. When you do go to the vet make sure they scan her for a microchip and I would have some tests done to make sure she is healthy. I know someone that gave their yorkie away for free because it had health problems not detectable to the untrained eye but they didn't tell the new owners this. If all goes well then I guess you have a free yorkie so enjoy!! |
You know I was thinking that too, that maybe it's sick and they can't afford medical so they thought if they give her away she will have a chance at getting help. |
I am wondering if they didn't give her away because she is nippy? Last night my daughter went to pet her and she nipped at her. She is also very possisive over toys. I picked all the toys up so noone gets bit. I am going to call the dog trainer I've used in the past today. I need to get her opinion on the dog. I am also going to call the people today and ask them again why they are giving up their dog. (I asked the other day and didn't get an answer.) I am hoping everything works out for the best. :aimeeyork |
Well however it turns out... WHY don't things like that happen to me? Sounds stange, but do some research and have her vet checked, and love her, sounds like she deserves it.. |
im just happy you have her... |
yep....i think they wanted to give her to a good home and didnt want to take her to a shelter or she is sick.....never-the-less, she has a wonderful loving home now.....you are very lucky |
Hmmm...What if it was their neighbors dog? Maybe there was a feud between neighbors or the dog barked all day and they wanted it gone for that reason. Or....maybe a family member passed away and no one wanted to take on the responsibility of the dog. Maybe nothing sinister at all. Lots of people give up their dogs to the pound every day for really lame reasons so maybe these people just decided they couldn't keep the dog and wanted to make sure it got a good home. Did they act like they cared if you would be a good owner or did they just hand her over no questions asked? |
They didn't ask me any questions at all. In fact I did all the asking and they did none of the talking. They pulled up got out handed me the dog and turned to leave when I stopped them and started asking questions. They seemed in a hurry but they had just got off work so maybe they were just wanting to get home. I don't know. I have had to give some of my aniamals away in the past and have always gave the new owners the info they need to care for my pet. I have always gone out of my way to make sure they had a great home. If it was there dog then how come they didn't know what kind of food they buy for the dog? Also they weren't sure on the vacc. if she had them or not. I really hope they were just bad pet owners that just put the dog in the back yard and forget them and not theives. Also the only time I've heard the dog bark is as a warning to the kids or my other dogs to get away from her. She is not a noisy animal at all.:aimeeyork |
I cant wait to see pictures. I hope you the best. I dont understand if she was stolen why not sell her unless they couldnt find a buyer. That would be hard to believe tho. good luck. |
Did you ask why they were rehoming? |
Just a thought, but when my cat was sick and had to be put down I sent my friend to the vet with her as there was NO WAY I could ever have made it through the doors (emotionally). Is it possible they were not the owners, maybe just dropping her for their friend/parent or someone else? |
Kitty I think that they were just bad owners. They didn't care about or love her. I know we will get to the bottom of the real story. With you and me they can't ignore us forever. We are such a great team you and me.:) They are just one of the many people who wake up one day and decide "I don't want a dog any more." and give it away. Thank god they didn't take her to the pound if they do any kind of temp tests here like they did at the one I worked at she would have been put down.:bee: :bee2: |
this is strange, but the fact that they put an ad in the paper kind of says it's legit. I mean,, they had to do that in advance, and most likely pay for it. Maybe they are just bad people. And as for not barking, she could still have her company manners! Hope it all works out for her and you. |
