Vegas small-dog boarding/daycare I think I've found the perfect place to board Eddie during a summer visit to Vegas, and I wanted to pass it on because the place seems terrific. And also to see if anyone sees any red flags I'm missing. It's called Small Town Dogz and unfortunately isn't scheduled to open until the first week of June. But I had a long talk with the owner, a guy named Phillip, and he's confident it will be open by then. He said if he isn't open, he'd board Eddie at his home. Here's what's cool about it: It's set up like a big, indoor village, with trees, houses, front yards, playgrounds, etc. Each dog or family of dogs has their own yard and doghouse. They are kept separate from other dogs, but are taken on regular walks through the village during a 12-hour day. There is 24-7 supervision. I can visit him as much as I want and even take him out for a few hours if I get some time to play. The only stipulation is no visits after dusk in order to give the dogs some quiet time. Oh, and they charge $35 a night. The place was recommended by the owner of Doggie Oasis Day Care, which doesn't accept dogs under 10 pounds. If anyone's interested, you can contact them at 1-702-DOG-TALK. That's his current business, a place called Puppy Enterprises that does grooming, I think. |
$35???? That's it? It sounds wonderful but of course you never really know until you visit and see the place. Just get Eddie and Jack some cool poker duds and let them gamble for treats :) I bet you could find a showgirl willing to watch those two little men :) hehe I'm just jealous, I LOVE Vegas and would love to go back soon! Play a nickel for me! |
sounds really nice! Let us know if you decide to go there! |

My only worry is the place isn't even open yet, and he kept talking about "The place is GONNA have this and GONNA have that." You'd think it would already have it if he was planning on opening in two weeks. But he's got an established business and appears to be well known in the doggie community. I think I'm gonna count on it, maybe look around for a backup plan. |
well.... if you decide to vacation in NY, you can leave babies here with us! And it'll cost ya $0.00. LOL But I'm afraid I won't have such a fancy setup as you described with that guy. by the way..... put $20.00 bucks on number 14 when you get there! :D |

Hmmm, if I can get all 9,000 YTers to send me $20, I could do some serious gambling. |
Sure beats this $129/night, eh? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=vegas+hotel But a cool find! Sounds like the boys will have a great time while they are there too! ;) |

Unfortunately, we're only going to take Eddie. We booked our original reservations before we got Jack. And when I started looking at doubling all the pooch travel expenses, I decided Jack would do just fine at home with our housesitter. I'm gonna miss him, though. |
OMG HOW FUNNY!!! We just planned our trip to Vegas and found our hotel doesn't accept pets! I'm very upset of course! I can't imagine being away from Tila for even 4 days! SO this is very nice indeed! |
OK Eddie and Jack. Have a great time at this Vegas pet resort, but just remember one thing.... WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS.;) |

And alisonj, lol, Eddie is delighted to learn the rules of Vegas. Now he can sneak over to the other side of the village and visit the hot chihuahua's crib without fear of getting laughed at by his Yorkie buddies here. |
