I used an AA product on mats.... [I didn't want to put this in the grooming forum, since I don't KNOW that this was a good product to use! Maybe people here can correct me if it's not!] My recently adopted doggie was very matted up. If I'd taken her to the groomer, they would have just shaved her down, and as she's extremely thin, I thought she needed her hair! So I've been trying to work them out the best I can. I have the "no more tangles", but I got more done with a product for black hair called "Luster's Pink Glosser". I'm not African American myself, but I figured that at least this should be non-drying...isn't that the main objection to products for human hair? http://www.lusterproducts.com/products/Pink/05.htm This really helped me work whatever hair I could out of the mat, and then isolate the minimum portion that was really going to have to be cut away. Her hair was originally so matted that it didn't even fall into a "part", and I suspected that she might be a cotton coat. After getting doused in this product (and I DID douse her enough to make her really oily for a day or so!) her hair is now silky, and looks like it will end up being really pretty with just a little more work. Anyway, I thought I'd mention it, in case this WAS a good product to use, at least in one time "emergency" type situations like this. And also so that someone could alert me if something made this a BAD product to use...I'm new to all this! |
I'm glad it worked for you! |
I've heard that human products have a different PH level and that's why they shouldn't be used (but I'm no expert). I'm so glad it worked for your baby! I've used my leave in conditioner on Hallie before when I was out of hers and didn't notice any after effects (she has a very cottony coat). And heck, I've used their conditionr on my hair and it was fabulous! You should post a picture of your baby :) |
