Crating Both Have some questions. PLEASE HELP!!! I previously tried the potty pads, worked half and half. Had our floors shampooed 3 times, today we spent some big money getting the pros in here. my 2 babies are just 5 and 6 months. I went to buy them a nice crate 24". I first put them in it yesterday. They are doing wonderful!!! My question is, ok... I am worried, because I dont know when to let them roam the house, and when to keep them in the crate. Today I made bells for my door, and I've began to let them out of the crate, and shake the bells at the door and I say "lets go outside to potty". When they go potty I praise them by doing a little dance, and giving them a treat. I hope Im on the right track. They don't and haven't used the potty in their crate. I hope they keep that up. Am I on the right track? Just if you can, let me know how much is too much in the crate, and when to let them out? I just started this crate thing yesterday, I just want to make sure Im doing this right. Thanks!!! Jessica |
You are doing great!! :D The only difference that I do is that I keep both of mine in two different crates. It is easier especially if there is an age difference between the two puppies. They are young so right now they will be spending alot of time in the crate. How much is too much time in the crate, just go by how long it is until your dog has to go out. Mine never spend more than 5 hours in a crate and thats usually only at night. I let mine out evey five hours or so to go to the bathroom and then I let them out to play for awhile because I know they don't have to go becasue they have already gone. You should take them outside every time after they are done playing, eating/drinking, sleeping. Training two at the same time can be harder but it can be done. Keep up the good work!!  |
