Been up all night.... I have been up practically all night with Luigi. He has some runny poo and threw up a bit. It was mainly all clear. He would fall asleep for awhile, but I couldn't sleep at all. I was just watching him. Then he would be up again pooing... But what is getting me...he still has some runny poo, but he is up and running around like nothing happened. He is playing and chasing Brasco and having fun. I have called my vet....they aren't open on Sundays, but have an answering service....I made an appointment for 1st thing in the morning. But if he keeps up with the poo like that...I may take him to the Emergency Vet right up the road from me. I don't get it...He seems fine, excpet for the poo. My heart is sinking here...but his little tail is wagging away like nothing! He is drinking his water like normal, but I am not sure if I should feed him anything yet.... All night though...Livv and Brasc were kissing on him and sleeping right up next to him. Soo sweet. I guess I just needed to tell yas, and I hope he will be ok. I scratched all my plans for today to stay home with him....and see what happens... I keep debating if I should just got o ERvet....oh...but now he is sleeping.... (sigh) |
aww poor thing. I hope he gets better quickly. |
Aww, Zoey sends him a kiss. :( |
How old is he and how much does he weigh. When Cali was little and under 3 lbs I would take her in right away. I would watch how he does for awhile and then decide. |
I wonder if he ate something he shouldn't have? Sounds like it. If he were sick he wouldn't be quite so playful??? If it were my dog, I think I would try feeding him a little rice or baby rice cereal. Let him lick a little ice cube now and then. If he keeps everything down all day...let him drink water. A little nutrical later might be good too. remember too much nutrical can cause more pooping. |
have you fed him greenies lately? if so PM me please |
Sorry he is sick!! I hope he feels better and hopefully you can wait to take him in the morning. My vet says keep Pedilyte(sp) on hand. And he said dogs prefer the non flavored kind and Gerber's brand the most. It is in the baby food section of the stores. It replaces important electrolytes, etc. Just put it in his water bowl or if you have a syringe- squirt it in his mouth. I hope to hear good things tomorrow. ps- my cold isn't any better even though I went to bed when we talked last night. |

No greenies anymore here.....not since last summer! Heard way too many horror stories about them. |
I think you are fine waiting until tomorrow since he is so active. To prevent dehydration, I would give him Pedialyte by syringe and nutrical. |
Hope he feels okay now ..sorry he was having such a ruff night ..welcome to parenthood i guess .. |
awwwwww POOR POOR Weegie!!! I'm so sorry he is sick, Hallie sends him kisses and hugs! Simon does that a lot and I just make sure he is drinking normally. I bet Weegie got into something outside :( poor baby! |
ok that is good that u don't feed him anymore greenies because we lost my Lahassa Apso to those terrible puppy killers..... sorry he is sick though!:( |
Diva had the same thing about a month ago. Sounds exactly the same. I was so worried but all if the stool test, blood test and x-rays came back perfectly normal. Not sure that was going on. It actually took her almost a week to stop having runny stool. But she was eating and drinking and playing fine and when I took her to the vet she her wt was up from what it had been so she wsas great. I hope it is the same thing for you. It was really scary but it turned out ok! |

I went through this with Georgie a couple of nights, so I totally know how you feel. He would have diarrhea all night and then run around and play like nothing was wrong. I am sorry that Luigi isn't feeling well but if it makes you feel better Georgie went to the vet got some Albon and was good to go. The vet said something he got ahold of upset his stomach. If you do feed him give him boiled chicken and white rice. I hope he feels better soon;) |
