Losing their teeth? After reading Lovebug's post about her baby's teeth. It made me wonder when do they start to lose their baby teeth, and is it painful? Is there something I should do. OMW I just realized I am so clueless. I just got the hang of brushing, bathing, dressing and brushing her teeth (talk about a struggle) forgot about the fact she will lose them. |
teeth From about 5 to 6 months. You might not even realize they are falling out. Never noticed any of mine acting like it hurts..a puppy will chew on a toy, I see blood and they keep chewing. Just make sure all the teeth fall out..the vet can tell you at spay/neuter time..all done at once. |
i don't know about anyone else but.... my caesar had ear mites and I had to do something. he had to have one drop in his ear 2 x a day for 3 weeks. Yes i know there are other meds that work differentaly but the vet I saw ......... don't see that vet anymore. anyway it was pure murder holding him down to do the drops, did he get a drop or not. So I started this thing, let mommie see your teeth, let momme see your ears. So anyway I make him lay on his back in my lap to do this. So i started noticing (sp?) that he had no bottom teeth...then about 2 days later he had teeth. It was unbelievable how fast they come in. that is the end of my experience.....He has lost his front teeth, 2 of his pointy teethe ( i think incisers) but this thing with his back teeth was completely new. He is not doing that funny thing with his mouth anymore. I was a little sad when he kept loosing teeth and I didn't have even one. I don't have children of my own so I am a little funny this way and the other day I found one of his teeth so I put it in my jewely box and will keep it forever. I guess what I am saying is that your Yorkie will loose those teeth and won't even know it nore will you. One of his teeth was soooo loose I wanted to pull it and I was afraid it would hurt and was so picky about what toys he played with that night afraid it would hurt and he lost it that night anyway playing with the same old toys that he always does........ |
Hefner started losing his baby teeth at 5 months. I actually found a couple and put them in his baby book.lol! It is really amazing how fast it happens and the adult teeth are not so sharp and they stop chewing as much which is nice. I don't think it's painful. |
toby started losing his at 5 months.......... the REALLY loose ones i sorta just reached in his mouth and pulled them out with my fingers, he didnt yelp or cry at all, he actually seemed rather relieved |
The Tooth Fairy Likes Dogs Too! I'm so glad for the search button on this site!!! Corky was playing with something small and hard on our floor yesterday and when I rescued it from her I found it was a tooth...or should I saw a 'clump' of teeth? Dogs teeth are sure diferent than human teeth. So I looked in her mouth to find the gapping hole  but nothing. In fact, it looked like she had more teeth than she needed! So I just kept it for the scrapbook I'm starting for her (now that's another story all together!) I sure do like this site. You folks are all so helpful and kind! :bravo: Thank you! |
she hasn't lost any nala is 6mths. old today and she hasn't lost any teeth!! i check quite often so if she's lost any it's only like 1 or 2 that i didn't see. is this a problem? |
just as a thought.......... i noticed with toby, when he was losing his teeth his breath smelled AWFUL. Now that he has lost all his baby teeth he smells fine |
