spot bot? Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but thought I'd give it a shot. We're thinking about purchasing a bissell spot bot. Has anyone used a spot bot on dog potty stains? What has your experience been? Does it remove the odor too? Thanks! Katie |
I have not tried that particular one but I do use the Bissel spot remover and it has been a god send. Always wondered though what the spot bot worked like. |
Have it, love it, highly recommend it. It has taken every single pee stain out of my carpets and my RED candle wax too. It is soooo worth every penny!! |
How long does it clean the spot for? Do you just turn it on and leave it? Do you notice if it leaves a soap residue behind that later attracts dirt? |
I've been reading customer feedback at http://www.bissell.com/Main2.asp?Page_id=46615 and it seems like people are pretty happy, and that the stains don't come back... |

The only thing I will tell you is it can be costly to use it on several spots. The OXY-GEN that is used with it is $6.49 a bottle at Wal Mart and I was only able to get 6 spots up with a whole bottle. But you only use it with set-in stains so if you have surface stains you only have to use the "GREEN MACHINE" detergent by Bissle which is much cheaper and it is mixed with 1/4 GREEN MACHINE, 3/4 water so it goes longer. Hope this helps. |
We LOVE ours! It does a wonderful job. You can keep water and solution in it, so it will always be handy. It has two auto settings...3 min or 6 min...so far we've only had one stain that needed the 6 min, so we just do it for 3, check it and do it for another 3 if it's not gone. That way you don't go through the solution as fast. They reccomend the Oxy stuff if it is a dark stain, so for pee spots we just use the pet and odor bissel stuff, which works very well. We used this in our old apt...when Cappi was a puppy, and got our deposit back!!!! Also, we had barrowed my mom's green machine before buying this, and it didn't work as well at all. And it was more of a pain to use. |
Interested to know whether any of you that use the spot bot have tried the bissel spot remover machine and if so which one do you like the best. |
I use the spotbot on the accident, but don't use the solution that comes with it. Too costly. What I use is the spray on nature's miracle on the spot, that plain water in the spot bot and it works fine. I love it. Be sure to smooth over the rounded wet circle with your hands to release the ring or it will dry this way with a circle ring on your carpet (learned it the hard way). We love our miracle spot bot. It leaves a really wet spot so don't step over it or it will stain. Also, I noticed at times if I spray too much nature's miracle, it can leave a left over residue, just spot bot it a 2nd time and it will resolve it. |
Well let me tell U as a 1st time owner of Yorkee Puppies...I need something! We used the puppy pads when training Tiffy and Teddy and didn't notice @ the time that they was leaving spots...I was winter Nov & Dec) when we got the babies, and NOW we have spots something bad...I've tried everything to get them up and can't find ANYTHING that will bring them up... Do U all have any thoughts on how to get OLD pee stains out? Thanks, Lee |
