What kind of yorkie is Zack? Hi! Im new here. I have a 9 week old yorkie named Zack that I got from a breeder; he is AKC. I saw his parents and littermates, they all looked normal, Zack was the different one, but we got him bc he had the best personality. I am just wondering if his hair will ever grow or if he looks like a normal yorkie to you guys. We are always going to love him, and I know he's a yorkie I saw his parents and I can even see their DNA's with AKC but I just wonder why he looks different. Are there different types of yorkies? TIA! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...May15th028.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0/May16004.jpg |
He's so cute:) :) |
I think I'd love to have that little guy. He is a very (exceptionally) handsome little pup. His hair is short - but it will probably grow longer, and different Yorkies' have different textures of hair that grows different lengths. He has puppy floppy ears. I can see him with his ears standing straight up, and if they were, he'd look all Yorkie to me. Yes - he looks like a Yorkie to me. And a cute one at that! Carol Jean PS: There aren't different kinds of Yorkies - but Yorkies can certainly look different from one another. |
hey... 4 Attachment(s) I think your beautiful baby is a red legged yorkie. He looks similar to many I have seen and a little like my romeo when he was younger with shorter hair. Romeo...being a red legged yorkie...will never have very long hair but he is my baby love!!! I have attached a few pictures of him for you to see. :-) Note: We shaved Romeo's ears to tape them so they would stand and learned the hard way the hair never grew back in as thick or long so if he is a red legged yorkie I would not suggest shaving his ears...or wait until you see how long his hair gets. I shaved his ear hair at 9 weeks and I have not shaved it since and it is still really short and thin! :-) I hope this helps! ~Tru |
I had a pup that resembled yours in a litter of mine once. He tended to get larger than the rest and had extremely slow hair growth. His hair did eventually get some length to it. His owner absolutely adores him and wouldn't trade him for any other. He is now 2 and I still get updated pictures and told how much he means to her and her family. Your guy is a cutie and looks like he has a lot of love in store for you!:) |
Oh, for your other question....there is only one kind of Yorkie. They either fit the Yorkie standard or they don't. People just tend to give them other descriptive titles that make it sound like there may be different kinds of them. Also, VERY importantly......WELCOME TO YORKIE TALK!!!! Stick around, this site has an abundance of info and awsome people! |
Welcome to YT. He is adorable! He may be a red legged yorkie. Search Red leged yorkie on here and you can read alot about it. Generally their hair is shorter than a regular yorkie. Good luck |
Zack is a cutie pie!! 2 Attachment(s) And you should love him to pieces always and forever. He may still grow to be full coated. It's way too soon to tell at 9 weeks. Here's a before/after of my Wosie. Her first pic is 8 weeks and the last is 9 months. Some difference! And her hair is even longer and thicker now at 11 months. Enjoy your baby, and revel in his positive qualities! And WELCOME to YT! |
omg...he looks just like my muffie who is a yorkie-poo |
1 Attachment(s) let me see if the picture of muffie came up....muffie is lying down |
2 Attachment(s) Hi, and welcome to YT! I think your zack is a cuttie. I have a 8mth old little girl and I had posted the the same question, and everyone here was quite helpful. Even though my girl will never have the long yorkie hair I still love her. Give it time it will grow slowly. Also may I suggest you use "missing link" you can get it at the pet store. Since I have been using it about 2 months I noticed a big difference in my girls hair. It seems to be coming in thicker and a little bit longer. I wish I knew about this product earlier I would have started using it as soon as I got her. Anyway good luck to you and your zack and just love him up. I am posting a pic of my sasha. |
Welcome to YT! Your baby's adorable! |
He's very cute. Did the lady breed any other dogs? It is possible to have two fathers for one litter. I agree with the others, he is probably what they call a red legged Yorkie. I'm sure his hair will grow. I've got the exact opposite worry. My new baby girl is 4 months old now and she has way too much hair. It's over 2 inches and very thick. So far no matting or tangling problems, but it is very different than my other two. |
welcome to YT and i'm pretty sure his hair will grow. just give it a little more time |
Hi zack mom!! My remmie looks identical to zack i thought Remmie was 12 weeks but he is 15 weeks and weights 4.3lbs i think they are both adorable but i really hope for a fuller. longer coat then red legged yorkies. my breeders suggested wapping the hair with a little bit of olive oil, has anyone every done this? and how long do you leave it wrapped? also zacks moma, Remmies ears are down too, i and since i started taping them, it is helping i also shaved the back of the hears today to see if it would help also. Good Luck, he is adorable!!! Yorkies are like potatoe chips cant have just 1 |
