dogs in restaurants? i saw an interesting article in the style section of the ny times on sunday. it was about the popularity of dog owners bringing their dogs into nyc restaurants saying they are therapy dogs. some are legit and some are questionable.http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/14/fa...=1&oref=slogin |
Hmm, I think the simple solution to this is just make a "Dogs Section" (Sort of like a smokers section) in the restaurant for people and their dogs. :D |
buddy love ... that's an excellent idea. i would support any restaurant with a doggie section. we just have to sell the idea to the einsteins at the health department. lol.. |
Lol, I would too! It would be really neat if you think about it  But then people would be like, "Just eat at dog parks..!" Those animal-dislikers will never understand, will they? ;p |
I wish they would have restaurants like that!! |
I'm a little iffy about dogs in a restaurant. My friend who has a maltese, takes him everywhere, and a great dane puppy, doesn't take him as many places as you would probably guess, anyway she would have a fit if a dog was in the same restaurant as her. She's a dog person just really feels you should seperate food and dogs at least her food. My point is its not just people who don't like animals. Like I said I'm a little iffy too, while some dogs are very clean not all are. Some small dogs aren't kept clean, I know how messy mine can get. Anyway I guess its the restaurants choice. If they choose to let dogs in and I don't like it I just wouldn't eat there. |
I live in Florida and smoking is not allowed in resturants THANK GOD! and either are animals of any kind, at least around here. There are many pet friendly resturants in other parts of Florida, I think that there should be some that are pet friendly and some that are just for people. That way people who are comfy with the dogs around them can eat there and those that are'nt can enjoy dinner as well. Everyone can pick and choose where to eat and no one will be pissy about there surrondings! |
Brandy, I can assure you that guide dogs for blind people are allowed in Florida restaurants...it's the law. In fact, working dogs of all kinds are allowed. Maybe you just have not seen any. |
I'm of the "iffy" persuasion, too. While accepting small breeds would certainly make LOTS of us happy :D - I know I'd LOVE to take Miss Abbie more places with me - I can't say how I'd feel if someone brought their Great Dane to dinner! And, as manageable as smaller breeds may be - a dog is a dog is a dog. |
I'm from Germany and there are dogs allowed in restaurants. Why not? They are laying under the table and bother nobody. I'm not eating from a restaurants floor and what people drag in there on their shoes is not very hygenic either. By the way... the health department in Germany is much more strikt then here!:aimeeyork |
