i didn't know how much i could love my little precious baby! big or small she's the apple of my eye! |
I am not even worried about weight. My dogs are both over-standard in size and both are still precious in my eyes. Its not really the size that prompted me to get Yorkshire Terriers, it was totally their personalities. I love them so much and nothing could ever change that. :animal36 |
i'm actually a tad bit worried about the weight bc the smaller they are the unhealthy they are i've heard? ella can't even be spayed until 7 months bc she's so tiny. we didn't realize she'd be this little as her parents were bigger. she's not even the runt. |
I just want to see what that neked bird looks like today. |
Tucker came from 2.. 4 pound parents and at 22 weeks he is 5 pounds. He reached 5 pounds at 4 months old, he hasnt gained a pound since. However he hasnt gotten any taller either. He may not be done growing yet, but I do believe he is pretty close to his adult weight, if you would of asked me month ago how big I thought he was going to be , I would told you 8 to 9 pounds, because of his growth pattern then, now because he hasnt grown anything in month. I dont think he will weigh an ounce over 6. Its hard to tell how big they will actually get. :) |
thanks for everyones input! i'm such a nervous mommy with my girls & my furbaby!! never owned a yorkie before only poodles so this is all new to me! i'm still disappointed i can't find clothes to fit her yet!!! i notice so many babies dressed cute on here. where do i go to find the places that sell these cute clothes? |
My baby was 9weeks old when I brought her home. I took her to a vet a couple days later .She weighed in at a whopping 3lbs. Now she is 11months old. Suzi is 7lbs. I thought for sure she would be bigger. But, no she is not. 7lbs is A perfect weight for Her ! She is long and lean, and very strong! :D |
At 17 weeks, Brody weighed 2.6 pounds. When I got him at 8 weeks, he was 2 pounds even. His brother at 8 weeks was 7 pounds even. His baby sister was not even a pound at 8 weeks. The variety in sizes in Yorkies is a wonder. Look at the differences in size in Brody's littermates. There were 5 of them. Poppy (the brother) was the largest. There was a female in between Poppy and Brody. After Brody, there were two more females. The one above was the baby. My vet said that Brody should be around 5 pounds. We'll see. |
