will tyke out grow this? We had company all wkend and Tyke was so happy to play tht he constantly dribbled on them all the time to the point they did not want him on them. He pottied a few times also while theyw ere here but mostly did this dribling. Will He out grow this. Hubby dont want diapers on him lol the belly bands and Tyke runs out the doggie door to pee alot and it would be hard to put on and off the band as often as he goes out. Sometimes he will just go out to look but sometimes to pee to. I hope he will out grow this. Has any one had this proublem? He is now 10.5 pds wow lots to love. zip is at 2.6 pds both now 5 months. How long does most yorkie takes so be house broke he still does in the house when he wants to. and we have a doggie door. |
Dribbling The dribbling is from excitement. Lex used to do it a lot when we first got him..he doesn't do it anymore. I think as they get older and have more bladder control it's easier for them. Maybe try to slow down some of the excitement when people come over. Not sure how well that can be accomplished but it's a thought. |
How long did it take to out grow. He does it when he is scared of something any thing can causes it. We go to doggie school and boy does he do it lol |
Tiger is very good at bladder control as he can be in his crate for 7 hours straight with never an accident . . . that goes with sleeping as well. However, when I take him outdoors, he pees every minute or so . . that goes the same when he is in intermediate class or wandering through the isles of petsmart! It can be pretty embarrasing as they might think he does not have manners  |
Everyone always says that they will eventually outgrow it. Reagan only does it when my sister comes over, just my sister no one else. The last time my sister was over was around the beginning of the year and Reagan was a year old last Oct. I think my sister just does something to dogs though b/c I used to babysit for this family that had a dog and I never had problems out of him well she comess over one time and he starts humping her leg. And now my dog pees everytime she sees her, I don't know. Anyway I've always heard that they do grow out of it, its just a puppy getting excited, don't know around what age though. One thing that you might be able to try is try to have everyone ignore him when he's most exicted. If its when they first get there have them ignore him for about 5-10 minutes. If its when they first sit down on the couch have them wait until he calms down a bit to pet/play with him. I don't know but it may be worth a shot. |
Now my bloodhound still does it everytime we go to the vet, because she's scared. She's over two years old and still does. Last time the lady behind the desk came out to pet her while I was signing in and when I was done I looked down and there was a puddle. I really don't know what you can do about it if they are scared, maybe just try to help his confidence overall? If he's scared of big dogs try to get him around big dogs enough to see that there's nothing to be scared of, etc? Luckily for us it only happens at the vet, although that's more than enough. |
Dribbles Well he stopped about a month after we had him. He gets excited to see someone but he doesn't piddle. Man I wish lex could go seven hours without having to go...lol. I started crating him again in my attempt to work with his back sliding on training and he can last probably four hours or so. But I also need to go back to cutting off his feeding/watering time earlier like I used to. Good luck!! I think the suggestion about company is a good one to try. |
