You type up a letter and in a very neighborly way ask your neighbors to keep their cats in their own yard because of the reasons you stated. Put them in your neighbors mailbox and you might even want to include some homemade (the pillsbury roll you slice of course!) cookies in a little sandwhich bag attached to each note. Is that diplomatic or what!! Good Luck! :)

Glad you asked this. I was going to ask about a cat issue also. But these are OUR cats. They are really good about pooping way out away from the house in the pasture usually but lately one of them has been digging in my two big flower pots that sit on the front porch. Why all of a sudden I can't figure out. I was going to ask if there are any home remedy things you can put around the pot because I don't really want to put it IN the pot on the off-chance that it would hurt the flowers. I thought I had read something on here before about that but didn't know what to do a search on.

I can always go to the pet store and ask for something there but I thought there might be something I already have that I could try. Any ideas??

As for the neighbor's cats pooping in your yard...... I love Winnismom's suggestion! It's a great idea BUT I'm not sure it's quite realistic since most people can't control their cats like you can a dog. A cat will jump any fence it wants so unless it's kept inside 24/7, the neighbors are not going to be able to keep it from your yard. Aside from that observation, I don't know what else to tell you. I do agree it's frustrating because I would hate for ours to poop all around the house. Good luck!

We have a horrible cat problem, too. Our problem is (and this may be the case with you) is that these cats are STRAYS! So, there aren't any neighbors that we can go to and ask to keep their cats in their yard!! They always lurch around at night, and we can often hear them fighting outside our bedroom window. My husband always scares them off, but these cats freak me out! Most nights out of the week, I have to get up in the middle of the night to take Hobbs outside to potty. I am always scared that a cat is waiting around the corner to pounce on me or Hobbs! Hobbs is not even 3 pounds, and I am scared that one of these cats is going to mistake him for a rabbit or rodent! :eek: Luckily nothing has happened yet. Hobbs definately used to eat the cats' poop, but he has grown out of that, thank goodness! :rolleyes:
