Is your yorkie a fetcher? Malibu is ADDICTED to fetching his frisbee and ball. Anytime we are on the couch, he brings one of those to us and keeps going and going. Didn't think this was a typical yorkie trait so I wanted to see if there are any other "yorkie retrievers" out there. :woof: |
I send hours a day throwing toys for Cali and she leaps and runs after them and brings them back. Her latest trick is she brings a toy on the bed and whips it off and then looks at me like go get it. So I guess she wants to take turns retrieving!lol |

Yes! Holly loves to fetch-mainly her stuffed rat and duck,but also a squeaky newspaper! Great way to get attention! My son taught her at 10 weeks old and she has been keen on fetch ever since. |
It is a great way to get rid of all that energy they have!!!!!!! |
here too Abbey goes & goes & goes..............she loves to run & fetch her toys! She exhausts us for heavens sakes!:) Beamer on the other hand is more laid back, not to mention sneakier........he waits for Abbey to bring the toy back , than rips it out of her mouth and than drops it at our feet ( with the look of "am I not the greatest" )........lol! Oscar will play fetch just as long as somebody will play with him. He is good to bring it back to you, it is the letting go part he has a problem with! If I ignore him he will drop the toy, and I have to grab it really quickly or he will take it away from me...he is so funny! He wants you to throw it for him but he does not want to let it go so you CAN throw it! |
That is exactly what Malibu does! He will drop it if you ignore him with this look on his face like just try to grab it mommy. Then when I do, he beats me to it and I have to wrestle him for it all over again. :) |
romeo is not a fetcher. if he can't hump it or eat it he's not interested. toys and fetch are not his thing. my mom's 2 yorkies are major toy and fetch players. they play until they collapse!:rolleyes: |
Diva LOVES to fetch. She will play for hours! The letting go is also a problem for her. She also likes to drop her ball a little far away and then whe nI get up to go get it she grabs it really fast and runs. See, she also LOVES to be chased! She is crazy!! |
I really wish I could read what goes through their minds when they are doing the keep away game with us! I can just see the gears turning in Oscar's head...it is like "nanny nanny boo boo...you can't get the tooooy!!!!" |
Yep.. I have just spent hours playing fetch with Ella. She brings every toy she possesses if you won't play, she even tries to put them in your hand... or your ear if you are lying on the floor!! :rolleyes: :D |

Dudley and Dinkey will fetch all day..........they just poop me out!!!!! :) They love to play with their squeaky balls. ;) |
This is so great...I'm playing fetch with Schatzi as I type this....SHE DOES NOT QUIT!!! She will bring EVERY SINGLE TOY she has until I throw something; anything. If I try to ignore her, she'll try to put her toy in my hand and gets close to my ear and barks. LoL....it's sooooo annoying, but I always end up playing with her...haha....they're sneaky.... :rolleyes: |
Dougal's fetcher. but he gets bored after a while the best way to keep his interest is pretending to throw it a lot so he has to guess whether you've thrown it or not:D ;) :D . If he feel it's "go get it" time he'll drop the toy at your feet, or in your lap or try to push it into your hand and put on his "puhleeze- play wif meeee!!" face looking rapidly from my face to the toy. Then just in case i didn't get the hint he'll nudge the toy with his nose or pick it up and drop it. Somehow i managed 2 teach him to drop but ever since we got the evil wee he keeps his nose on the toy until i pick it up cos his lil sis is the kind of evil dog that'll just take it off him cos he looks like he's having too much fun.:eek: |
Not only does Baby run after everything I throw and come back, she also picks up everthing I drop and runs away with it! Then I have to fetch her! :eek: :p |
Kitty plays fetch with anything. She will go and go and go until you can't go anymore. She loves balls but she'll fetch anything that you throw. It is great fun and she always brings it back. Sometimes you have to give her the "drop it" command but she always does. :) |
Katy will play until we drop! She is getting really good at catching the jumping and catching the ball in the air. |
I guess it is a yorkie trait! Trixie can play fetch all day too. Maybe it's their 'hunting' instinct coming out. BTW does anybody's yorkie do this? Trixie will play with her toys, but then puts it next to the couch or the entertainment center and pushes it underneath where she can't get it. Then she whines and whines in front of it until I get it for her... |

Stewie loves playing fetch too. He would play all day if you let him. Now he wants me to throw 3 or more toys, then he fetches all of them at once and brings them all back in his mouth. If I try to ignore him, he barks at me until I get the hint and throw one . What a little stinker. |
YES! My 2 boys LOVe FETCHING!!!!!!! Luigi brings me his stuffed little bones for me to throw them to him!!!! And he has a ball! We could thrwo them for 5 hours strait, and he never tires of it! Brasco though...when he 1st came to live with me, he was scared of all the squeaky toys. And just stayed on the couch and watched! And after about 3 monthes of that, he started going after what I threw for Luigi! But now, he LOVES to fetch! MAinly his soccer balls now! If he brings me one to throw, and I just sit there, he starts whining and grrrring and his tail goes soooooooooo fast! Then he will bard at me if I don't throwit at all!!! Por thing! But they love it! And Livv just likes to after anything that is the boys just to aggitate them!!! I love it!!!!!!! LOLOLOL |

Chachi loves to play fetch he just doent like to give the ball up when he returns with it. I eventually get it back from him though. Jewels doesnt play fetch and I dont know why. She will chase after Chachi when he goes for the ball but she will never retrieve a ball. |
