are baby wipes safe on dog private areas? thanks for any repsonses! i currently have a pack of white cloud baby wipes......is it ok to wipe their poo poo hole and/or fu fu area? it's just that doggie wipes are so expensive! i remember when i bought a pack of wipes from petland for 8 dollars! thanks for any advice and suggestions! |
I use baby wipes I have never seen the wipes for dogs |
I use baby wipes for Gypsy too. I refuse to pay twice as much just because they label them Doggie Wipes. :) |
i use the hypoallergenic huggies wipes. i use them on his bum and wee wee. he hasn't had any reactions. so far so good. |
I also use baby wipes, generic brand hypoallergenic |
When my granddaughter was born we bought the Huggie's newborn wipes...I think they are hypo-allergenic...I keep a box here for her when she visits, I use them on both dogs...no problems. |
I would say that is they are safe for babies butts, then they are safe for doggie butts |
:lol tears :sidesplt: :lol tears :sidesplt: I'm sorry, but this thread cracked me up!! Poo-poo hole, fu-fu area, bum, wee-wee!!! I think it's histerical how we talk around here!! Thanks for making my day brighter! Suz |
lol thanks for all the advice! |
I use them! I use baby wipes on all of my babies all the time and it never seems to hurt them. I think if they are gentle enough for babies they are safe for pets! :-) ~Tru |
I would not use the wipes all the time. I read somewhere (don't know where) that it can cause a urinary infection in females especially if you are not wiping in the proper direction. I rarely wipe Baby's butt unless I see or smell  something. |
oh... :aimeeyork Sorry let me clarify that one, lol: I use the wipes on them for different reasons all the time...only on the fanny if poop is stuck but i use it on their faces if food gets them messy or they get into something like dirt outside. I know that came out sounding like I wipe their tushies all the time...not the case. And when I say all the time i mean when needed with no bad results, lol. :-) ~Tru |

Since I know now that baby wipes are ok for their bums, but how about their tear tracts? Are these ok for wiping their tears too? If not, what do you use?? |
i use soft towel baby wipes from target for their bums and a wash towel with some warm water for their faces. their faces get wiped every morning. their bums get baby wiped after every poo-poo. their wee-wees get tissue wiped or baby wiped after pee-pee. their feet get baby wiped or wet nap wiped when they come from the outside to home. |
For tear stains and eye gunk, we use a flea comb. It brushes out the yucky very well. We also use kids scissors (the ends are not very sharp) to cut the area around the eyes so the hairs don't poke their eyes. |
The way I look at it is if they are safe enough to wipe my human babies with, then they are fine for my furbabies too... :) |
