Bunny helped Bella brake out!! I have a porker( yorkie pom mix) that is 1 yrs old and I just got a new yorkie, she is almost 12 weeks. Well, every time I put bella into her play pen, Bunny (my yorkie-pom mix) SOMEHOW undoes the pen or moves it so she can go under it and Bella gets out. Its never when I am in the room, but when I am on the computer or in the living room. The 1st few times it was cute, but now its starting to bother me. We have a kitten ,my husband found, and Bella loves playin in the litter box and eating the icky ness inside. So I dont let her run free in the house. I dont want her hurt. + my hubby dose not watch where he is stepping as it is, so knowing the pup is in her pen. He really dose not watch where he is going. I thought it was bc bunny wanted to play with her. scent she dose love playing with her little sis..but Bunny just lets her out and then runs off in the bed room like every dog for her self.... It odd... has any ones dog done this before or have any ideas to make her stop doing it. I dont want Bella to get out one day and get hurt. |
I enjoyed reading about the adventures of Bunny and Bella! It's cute and I have to admit I laughed, but I do understand your concern with Bella being out. Have you watched to see how Bunny gets Bella out? Maybe if you see it happen, you can figure how to keep it from happening again. I wonder if Bunny runs into the other room, thinking that you won't know she was the one to help Bella escape. Funny little pup! |
LOL !! What little consipirators ! That's so funny ...I wish I could help....can you post pictures of the pen ? Sorry for laughing.... but that's what friends DO - they bail friends out of jail :D :D |
The only thing I can think of is hanging weights on the pen to make it heavier. You could also try making a floor with a piece of material and lacing it to the gated pen. I use a Graco baby travel bed (looks like a playpen, but half the size) for mine and it has it's own bottom so this wouldn't be a problem. My malamute lets my babies outside in the backyard to play, if I'm not careful to lock the doors! |
The pen is 8 sided. I orded from Petco. Here is the link for what it look like. Its the 8 Panels - 24"W X 30"H http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.as...amilyID=13743& I have watch bunny, but when I am in the room, she just moves it with her nosie, so it just make the pen smaller. I put a lock on the door, so now when I take her out I just pick her up from the top. So Bunny MUST be getting her for from the Bottem. There is no way she can jump in or out of it. Its too tall for her. That and I have stuck her in the play pen with bella and she has tried to jump out and she cant. So, it has to be from the bottom... I guess I am going to have to pull out my needle and thread and make a bottom for it. Hopefully this will work. |
