What is the best oil for hair? i've heard salmon oil , olive oil all kinds but i wasn't sure which one is the best for hair. nala has a cottony coat but it's not that bad it doesn't even get tangled if i miss a day or two brushing her except for on her legs. i really just want something to make her coat shine. also my lhasa has BAD dry skin what would be the best for her and how much to you add to their food? |
I offer salmon oil in capsules, it is basically omega 3 and 6. The name of the product i am using is lipiderm, but i know there is also the oils you add to the food. Talk to your vet first..when you offer a good quality food it is not really necessary to offer suplements. |
We've been using Everyone's Best Friend (the brand) Skin & Coast Supplement since Yoda was a few months old, and it's worked great for us. :) |
i didn't think about that. i finally make a decision on which food to switch her and am going this weekend to pick it up (have to drive 2 hrs.) i'm going to start feeding her Natrual Balance and he said it had omega 3 and 6 in it. i'm also trying to talk my mom into switching the food of my other two dogs. i know for sure it will make a big difference in our lhasa b/c the food she's always been on isn't good (purina) nothing but corn and byproducts and i read somewhere that corn can cause allergies and she has them bad! i didn't know how to find out if a dog food was "good" or "bad" until i got nala |
Are your other dogs large breeds? Some poeple think it is just to expensive to feed big dogs with a good quality food...but truth is, the difference is minimal. With a grocery store brand you will feed around 3 cups of food, with a good quality you will probably feed only half that amount and get better results, and of course, each bag will last longer. Tell her to give it a try at least:) |
no, we have a lhasa and a rat terrier mix the only reason she's not so sure about changing is b/c the nearest petco is 2hrs away so we would have to order online (which i'm doing unless i know someone that is going to be around a petco) and a 17lbs is $20 when she's use to buying a 22lbs bag for $8 or $9. but i think she will end up changing b/c i told her that the less fiber or fillers in dog food, the less they poop and my lhasa koko poops alot!! not to mention she's overweight, has bad dry skin and allergies pretty bad too. the other dog doesn't have any problems really but if she changes it would really benefit the lhasa who is getting very old. |

I hope you find a better quality food close to you...:) And yes, you will see a BIG improvement with the poo (size and smell too) When we adopted byron he was eating a food called kibbles and bits and OMG, you could not stand the smell of his poop and the pee smelled stronger...after changing it was soooo much better, no comparison, very small and compact poo:) |
