Blessing of the Animals Yesterday was the annual Blessing of the Animals at the Unitarian fellowship we belong to. We took our chow, Anele and Lily. Anele was beautifully behaved, sitting quietly and patiently withstanding all the petting. Lily, on the other hand, acted like the spawn of Satan!;) She was so excited she began what we lovingly refer to as her "seizures". So many animals to meet...she couldn't contain herself. And when it was her turn for a blessing she tried to jump out of my arms to kiss the minister. Was I embarrassed? Let me think...........YESSSSS! Of course everyone got a good laugh and thought she was adorable. She did make some friends though. A Great Dane whose head was bigger than her entire body and...ready for this?...two GOATS! It was quite an exciting day. Note from Lily: Bless me father, for I have sinned.... |
Awwwwww ... that was sweet ... however, owning a little "spawn of Satan" ourselves, we certainly understand your embarrassment! :yelrotflm :yelrotflm :yelrotflm Poor Lily .... tell her that I don't think she has anything to worry about, God loves little feisty Yorkiebabies too!!!! ;) |
Oh we have the spawn of Satan here too!!!!!!! It is so embarassing to go on walks- KimMee can make the most horrible noises and If I was approaching her- I would run to the hills!!!!!!!! But really she is just so excited and she wants to kiss everyone. |
Well, then it certainly sounds like she needs to go to church. On the great dane and the goats....you know what they say...if ya can't run with the big dogs...stay on the porch. She's running with the big dogs. :) Cute story. I love when they bless the animals at church. A little boy at ours....walked up to the altar seemingly alone....there in his pocket...was Mr. Mouse...jus' peekin' his nose over the top. ;) |
