Eye color in relation to coat texture??? 2 Attachment(s) Hey, I was just looking through some pictures of my baby I have stored on my computer and when I saw this one, I remembered a thread I had read about the reflected color in a dog's eye when you take their picture and how that can determine what type of coat they have.... I thought it was nuts when I read it, and then I found this picture. Do people really believe this is a way to predict their coat texture? In any case, I thought this was a pretty creepy picture....lol |
I think it is a myth. Hobbs' coat texture is completely opposite of whatever his eye color predicted. I think green/blue means silky and yellow means cottony. Well, Hobbs has green/blue and cottony coat. I could have it backwards, though. |
Green means silk. Amber or red means cottony. Do you have anymore pictures? |
1 Attachment(s) This is Pepper with her one lone tiny, tiny baby boy. Her eyes show very green, but her coat is very hard to manage, quite thick and grows like a weed( or like a spring flower). She weighs 10 lbs. I love this big girl but dont like the coat. Its soft with very little shine except in a picture. .........But I have two of her sisters.......they are much smaller then Pepper......less then half her size and their coats are silk. Not sure what to think of the theory.........but I do know ancestory plays an enormous part in the equation. Maybe eye reflection is sign?!...........:) Reflection of the eyes does not always hold true to the present yorkie. It can be pretty accurate but its absolutely not 100%. |
