what to do after washing doggie dripping wet, what do do you do? i was just wondering if it is ok to put them near a heater blower while they sit in a cage until they dry a bit. any advice would be great! =) |
I blow dry Hobbs with the hair dryer on the low setting. I brush him while I am drying him. |
Ssome time I let them dry on their own or I blow dry on low. |
Oscar likes being snuggled in a warm towel ( fresh out of the dyer if ya got one) and then the hair dryer for a bit he gets bored with that easily tho when he's mostly dry he has to run and roll on the floor, shake and try to get some of that nasty clean off of him. takes him a long time to get that dirty and he doesn't appreciate me ruining it. But anything is better than the haircuts. |
i let him run around like a crazy man. drying himself on anything. |
I put 3-4 rowels right out of the dryer and Cali rubs in them until she is pretty dry and then I comb her and blow dry her. She loves the blow dryer. |
I rub gently with a warm towel--but then we love to dig in our basket and roll and run everywhere at top speed! Blow dry--no way! lol! I make sure the heater is on! |
1st. Towel dry 2nd. Run around like a crazed maniac rubbing on everything 3rd. Blow dry with the blow dryer |

I blowdry Rosi also ! |
I towel dry mine with three or four small towels - until he is almost completely dry and then let him go - and "go he does...." doing all the "after the bath behavior." If I couldn't get him as dry as I do - I'd use a blow dryer. Carol Jean |
I just gave Sadie a bath...she is so funny! She watches me from around the corner as I get her bath items together...Then I have to offer her a treat or her skin PaPa catches her and she starts shaking like...O MY GOD THEY ARE DOING IT TO ME AGAIN!! Once she is wet she doesn't mind. I use 2-3 towels and just hold her till she is almost dry...she is such a baby....she absolutely does not like the hair dryer!!! The first time I tried using it on her (when she was a pup) if she could have crawled inside of me she would have....very frightened...don't know why but, I don't mind holding her as she dries...Then I take off the towel...she will shake..I brush her and then she acts like a maniac!!! lol she will jump up on the bed, couch, quilts anything she can find to rub...My hubby and I just watch her an laugh... |
I just towel Kirby off and let him do the rest on the carpet, furniture, bed spread, pee pad etc... then maybe a second toweling when he's settled down a bit. I would be very careful about setting their cage next to a heater but I guess if you're careful that could be a good way to dry them too.. |

Oscar does that too my husband always asks him if mommy covered him in all that clean again. and asks him if he's trying to get the clean off. (he usually does) then he likes to go sleep behind the recliner and pout like I was trying to drown him. |
I use a couple of towels to dry off Tiger as this gets rid of all the excess water. . . .then I blow dry him using cold air . . .with half his body still wrapped in towel. |
thanks for everyone's suggestions & methods! :) |
I usually blow dry, cause I want them to be used to it. so it's best to start it when they are babies. But I have also let them do the crazy after bath run. I have to pick up the pee pads, cause Chachi likes to rub on them, which defeats the purpose of the bath. |
I have a flannellette blanket on top of the dryer and when I lift her out she rubs like a crazy girl up and down the blanket. Then I rub her here and there with a towel and last but not least I put the dryer on her. Then she likes to sit on my knee until I comb her. They sure are funny. |
