Does anyone's Yorkie love ice? We went out of town a few months ago and just stopped at the closet motel/hotel we found. Didn't ask if they accepted dogs or not. We had a cooler of ice with cokes and stuff in it and were trying to keep Caesar from barking just in case he wasn't suppose to be there. So we threw a piece of ice on the floor. He went nuts. Ate every bite. Now if you have a cooler and he hears you go in it he begs for a piece of ice. He stays busy chasing it and then eating it. Sometimes you have to not give him anymore because his little nose and feet are so cold and he just start shivering. I have to put him in his blanket and calm him down. this should come in handy cooling him down this summer out back with the pool. Thanks for listening and sharing. |
Schatzie likes to play ice hockey on the kitchen tile. Just be careful about your fur babies teeth, ice is extreamly hard on the teeth and can break. (my parents learned this the hard way with their Ruffy) |
Thanks I will keep that in mind. Ice hockey on the table? |

lol too funny.... I never thought of it that way. Don't know what to call Caesar's additions because it is on the hardwood carpet... anywhere you give it to him. |
I usually give Hefner an ice cube from my soda in his carseat tray when we are riding in the car. He likes to chew on them and lick them! |
One thing I've learned is never slide the ice across the floor. Even if the little rascal is next to you, he'll arrange himself so darn fast that his little leg could get whacked by the ice cube. Fortunately, Bodhi wasn't so quick the first time, but it was a VERY close call! Oh, and rolled up towels under the oven and refridgerator prevent frustrations, ha ha. |
nala loves ice!! she will go crazy when she hears the ice machine. she also loves chases it across the floor while acting like a cat. she learned how to climb on the intable between the chairs so now we have to make sure we don't leave any glasses on it b/c she will get up there and steal ice out of your cup or knock it over trying!! :p |
lol I think it is great that we are all from different breeders and different states and yet our yorkies have some of the same traits etc Does your Yorkie hate YT...... Mine does....he knows that mommie is doing something else and he is not happy at all......... |
Yes!!!!! :) She loves to play with it in her dog bowl, like bobbing for apples!!! She likes to play with her food also, throws it in the air, jumps on it, barks at it, silliest thing you'll ever see!!! :p |
Yes!! My yorkie runs to the frig every time he hears someone getting ice out of the ice maker. I like when it gets stuck to his hair and he can't get it off. |
Most of my Yorkies love ice. I have a bottom drawer-type freezer on my kitchen fridge. I take ice water to my bed each night. One night I was making my ice water so I pulled out the freezer and got my ice. I closed the drawer to get water and the freezer would not close. Ilsa had crawled into the freezer. Scared the crap outta me..She has not done it again but I am more cautious.. |

Beau doesn't show much interest in it, I don't know, might be his age (4 1/2 months). When he does get close to it, he acts like it scares him. I think my babe is scared of everything. |
My Asia isn't scared of anything. Which scares me a little. She loves ice cubes. |
