when having surgery, what the vet should not give them i can't remember where i saw it, but this lady was saying when she took her yorkie to get neutered the vet used something to put him to sleep. and her yorkie never woke up. she then told what it was the vet gave the yorkie and then she told what we should always tell your vet what to use when putting your yorkie under. |
Yikes!!! That's scarry!!!!!!!!!! Can you remember what it was? Wonder why the vet wasn't aware what to use on a Yorkie?! |
I think someone said the vet should use Isoflourene (sp) to put them to sleep. Not sure. |
what to tell the vet to give your yorkie before surgery i now remember where i saw what to give your yorkie. it was at (alex's yorkie care frequently asked questions.) see some vets think isoflurane is expensive, so they will use pentabarb or halothane or any barbituates. she also said don't let vet intubate toy dog because they had tracheal injury and died. tell vet to use the smallest tracheal tube to intubate your dog if there is no other choice because of the surgery type. she says be up front and tell your vet to mask your dog with isoflurane. it may be expensive. and if your vet doesn't have it go to another vet. |
