I won't even dignify this! |
I don't know much about yorkies because Buttercup is my first one, but your little doesn't look purebred but she is still such a cutie! |

Yep, that is what my Mom taught me.:D |

The Yorkie in question does favor the male Chi we rescued last week. Smae wiry type hair. I really hate that you paid so much and aren't sure of her purity. I know how it is to get a pup and the kids fall in love! Good luck dear. |
Hi- I still haven't gotten pics of my 3 up here yet -i'm a procrastinator :) but I have a baby who is 10 months old. His name is Rocco. For many months we wondered what kind of dog is he? He sure didn't look just like my other two who are 6 and 7 lbs each. Now, at 10 months he is twice as big as my first two and it wasn't until last month that he finally started to look like a yorkie- a jumbo yorkie! We thought he's part wired hair terrier, maybe part dachsund, we just weren't sure. Now I didn't pay for him. Rocco was born with his back leg backwards and his testicles never dropped so she was looking for someone who would take him and I feel like I won the lottery when she brought him to me. She told me his mom and dad were akc full blooded yorkies 5 and 6 lbs each so you can imagine our surprise when he started getting bigger than my 5 and 7 yr olds!! I am not an expert but maybe the same thing will happen to you and in 3 or 4 months yours will look more and more like a yorkie. I'm sorry I don't have the picture, I'll work on that in the next couple of days and you can see him. |

Thank you Shadow!!:D |
4 Attachment(s) hi, everyone, just heard back from the breeder and she sent me pics of the mom and dad of my furbaby in question. After looking at the pics I could see where my yorkie came from, I am attaching the pics any comments? Tell me what ya all think. Thanks meeshue |
sorry. 1 and 2 are the father, 3 and 4 are the mom. |
the dad looks like a mix...I'm not sure. he just doesn't look 100% to me...the mom looks like she might have a hint of some other breed in her. they are both adorable though... |
Umm. The father definelty is different looking. He has a fox look to his face. |

They both look like mixes to me, I could be wrong but I kind of see some Dacshund in the mom maybe. They are both cute but I don't think they are purebreeds. Is the breeder telling you that they are pure and so is yours? If so, you should send her back some pics of the yorkies on here, that more fit the standard. I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that could help you out with some pics. |
The mother of your dog looks like an Australian terrier. Do a web search and you'll see plenty of Australian terriers just like her. |
The Mom looks like a Norwich/Cairn and Yorkie and I have no idea what the dad is, but he sure is freaking cute!!! Neither of them really have the same type of short snouted face as your baby. Does the "breeder" have any other dogs? I still maintain that your baby is part Pekengese or maybe even part Brussells Griffon |
You have a sweet baby! I just found this thread. After looking at the pics of the parents, I really don't feel you have a full blooded Yorkie. But if you love her and your daughter loves her, she is indeed priceless. She has a precious little face and is just a beautiful puppy! I would say that a valuable lesson has been learned and I am sorry that it had to be at your expense. I really feel that the breeder should be questioned as to the purity of her line since she is registering them as pure bred Yorkies. She is deceiving a lot of people, but again, if they love their dogs, they are winners! It is just that breeders like her are really tainting the lines, especially if folks that buy from her are using her dogs to breed more dogs...which I am sure some are. Oh and one more thing...CHIHUAHUA'S ROCK!!! I have never seen an UGLY chihuahua...that was a very rude comment...maybe gizmo2005 was a little confused??? Must have been... |
I believe that DNA testing is expensive....I wouldn't go there. I would take my pup around to several reputable Yorkie breeders in the area --and get their opinions. I would be quite satisfied with their opinions ---especially if they all agreed. Honestly things like this really get me mad... I love your little dog and would keep it forever, but I don't think it is a purebred Yorkie. And - it is unbelieveable to me that anyone would tell you that it is a registered purebred and charge you that amount of money. ****** I almost feel like I would get as many professional opinions as I could - and get that little lady into small claims court and (keep my puppy), but get most of the money I paid for it back. No one should be allowed to be so dishonest. With more and better pictures - I'm sure you could get some very professional, honest opinions from many Yorkie breeders right here on Yorkie talk. Your little pup is probably part Yorkie - and, it will be just as sweet, darling, and as wonderful a pet as any truly purebred Yorkie would ever be. Where is Judge Judy when we need her??????? Carol Jean |
Gosh, the mom and dad don't look very well cared for :( Their fur is really straggly and in need of a good brushing. Poor babies! They're really cute, though! Your pup is SO sweet and adorable! I think she looks like a mix, too, and I'm sorry you were charged a high price! I think that taking the breeder to small claims court is an excellent idea! Maybe just the threat of going to court will get her to refund some of your money and you could keep your lovely girl! Have you taken her to a groomer? When I got my Bobby, he was in dire need of a grooming -- he didn't look much like a Yorkie at the time, either, LOL! But after he was groomed, his ears came up and it made a huge difference. Maybe if you have her ears shaved and her fur shaped she'll look more like a Yorkie? Julie |
Oh Hon I am sorry for all that you are going through. I have to see seeing your pup and his parents I would have to say that I think that they are all mixed breed with Yorkie in there. I would drag her behind off to small claims court and get back my money. For sure call up Judge Judy. You can get help there and you can get her behind on TV so others can see what she is all about. Definitely contact your local Better Business Bureau and file a claim. It really does suck that you save your money to get something and she misrepresented herself and her line of dogs. It's great that you will love her no matter what. In the future check on YT and you will find some long standing breeders on here and I am sure that you can find someone closer to you or that can give you a referral of so you can make your next purchase. Either way enjoy you baby and the personality and love that she brings to your family. |
1 Attachment(s) :wavey: Well I think your furbaby is very cute. Full yorkie or not, you love her and that's what really matters. At only 7 months old, she hasn't had time to get her audlt coat in, so we have to wait and see how it grows. I think she's super cute, and I bet she gives great Yorkie kisses too :) :) :) :) As far as gizmo2005 comment, well I'm going to take it you are very young. Being new here to YT, you need to learn if we don't have anything nice to say, then we don't say anything at all. You do, as we all do have a right to our own opinions, but sometimes it's best to keep them to ourselfs.;) I do have a chihuahua, his name is Poncho, and in my opinion, he's super cute. I really have never met a furbaby of any breed that isn't cute.:2hearts2: |

I am impressed that the breeder decided to contact you after all! Persistance is the key. Have you had any more discussion with them about this, or was it merely to get pictures? I would be curious if they would admit mixes in the parent dogs. You may want to let the breeder know that you are a member of YT and you have the ear of over 10, 000 yorkie owners. Mention you could list their kennel on here with a "never buy a yorkie from_____" if they don't want to give you some of your money back. I would try for at least half. Good luck, and let us know how things turn out! And by the way, be looking for a package in the mail, lol!! You may have to do some adjustments to what I am sending, so I hope you are good with a needle and thread!:p Give baby Sasha a hug from Aunti Glad!!:p |
Maybe the breeder isn't really a breeder? maybe she truly thought or were told they were yorkies and breed them? thinking they were? The reason I think this is, her sending photos to prove to you they were yorkies! so It makes me wonder? but you baby girl is darling no matter what! :D |

Isn't there some Australian Terrier in the yorkie's background? |

Poncho is darling!! and well said  |

But I agree, please don't call anyones dog ugly -- it's just not nice and there's no reason for such negativity. ALL dogs are beautiful in their own special way. :) I personally LOVE Yorkies and Maltese the best -- they're my favorite breeds. But Chi's and Pomeranians (and those cute American Eskimo doggies) are my second runners up! :) I'm sorry you were cheated out of $900. Maybe this "breeder" isn't a true breeder at all. Maybe she just mated whatever dogs she had on hand to make money. I hope that isn't the case and I truly hope she can be reasoned with. Please give your special little girl lots of kisses from me and my pooches! |

I just got done reading this whole thread, and I think I may have to agree with you jbarile---if a breeder was knowing that she sold you a mix, then I really don't think she would have sent you pics at all. So maybe she didn't even know what she was getting. Makes me wonder too. But Meeshue--you do have a beauty for a pup! And you love her and thats all that matters! You have such a wonderful attitude about this whole situation, and you can tell by the way you have talked about your little one, that you are sooo in love with her and it doesn't matter if she is pure yorkie or mix! I love that! There have been soooo many people on here who have gone thru the same situatuin as you, or their yorkie was bigger than they were told it was going to be, then they want to get rid of it and get a smaller one or whatever! And that is what upsets me! But you are soooo sweet and I can just tell that this all really doesn't matter to you. You LOVE her no matter what and Bless you for giving her a wonderful, loving home!!!!! And to Gizmo2005---you really need to watch what you say. If you have nothing nice to say, then please don't say anything at all. I don't think you would appreciate it if we all called your dog ugly. I am sure you would be upset. But none of us would ever do that....that is not how we are on this forum. This is a funloving place and we would like to keep it that way. |

I think both parents are pet quality Yorkies that should not have been bred. I am sorry you are disappointed. Are these the same parents that you saw when you bought your pup? If so, I don't think there is anything you can do. $900. is a lot to pay for a Yorkie of that quality but you aren't the first, and won't be the last. I know you might feel better if you paid less, but this type of breeder is hurting the breed no matter what she charges for her pups. |
http://images.google.com/images?q=Yo...&start=40&sa=N look at that page!! All Yorkies. Look at Abby. Looks like the Mom and some of the clipped Yorkies look like the dad. |
