lksdolls | 05-04-2006 12:53 PM | Nursing/Heat Cycle Question 2 Attachment(s) I asked this in the breeder section and have had no response. Hopefully someone here will read it and give me an answer. Roxie was in heat the end of January. When we suddenly lost our matriarch mama, Reggie, April 4th, leaving us with 5 baby girls to care for, Sissy, Reggie's daughter and her daughter, Roxie, took over as substitute mama's giving the girls the tender love and care that only another yorkies could provide. Our miracle came with Roxie developed milk two weeks later and has been nursing them along with the supplemental bottle feedings I was giving and now they are eating soft mush but still nursing. My question is since Roxie has developed the milk and is nursing, will that change her heat cycle? It is like she gave birth but without being pregnant. Does anyone have an answer or even a good guess?
Here is Roxie, she's only 14 months old..........miracle milk and all! The other pic is Roxie and 19 week old male, Dante who became the cleaning expert. |
