after the bath my Aarya[4 month old] is doing very strange behavior after the bath, he will run here and there, he rub his self on the floor and bark alot:confused: [he is very queit yorkie]. so i feel is it some thing wrong with shampoo or all yorkies do like that?:aimeeyork i normally after the bath wrap him in towel, and start human hair dryer on very mild level,i use 8in1 tearless puppy shampoo[i dont know how good the shampoo is,this is my 1st time with this shampoo and pet too:animal-pa ] please give your suggestion for him |
I can't say all yorkies do that, but all three of mine do!! I would say its normal yorkie behavior!!:p |
I agree. I've never owned a dog that doesn't act like that after his/her bath. They feel good and since they're wet, they have the instinct to run and roll around on the floor. He's just fine!! :D |

My Yogi does the same thing, too! All my othere dogs did it, too! I think it's just them feeling frisky after their bath!!:D |

Cali does it too. I put warm towels out of the dryer on the floor and she goes crazy rubbing in them. I'd say it's very normal. |
My husband and I call it the "Murphy Run" because as soon as he is done he gets down and runs through the house like a mad man!! He rolls on the rugs, bites anything he can get his teeth on and trys to drag it along with him and even does what we call the "growl by" where he runs past you and growls and barks. I think it is just them feeling FUNKY and FUN after bathtime - you have got to love it - it is so much fun to watch him. LOL!!! :) |

My kids love when Bailey gets his bath, they think it is hysterical to watch him soar through the house and rub up and down the hallway. Sometimes he actually does a sommersault while rubbing his forehead on the carpet lol |

He's trying to dry himself off. My dog does that too until we blow dry her. |
Every dog I have ever owned has done this. They go crazy!!! I think first, they are just "happy to death that the bath is over." And, second, they are running around trying to dry themselves. Anyway, the end result is exciting to watch. Mine appear to be happy happy, happy, playful little maniacs when their baths are over. Carol Jean |
Yep, Kirby does it too! He runs so fast that he misjudges turns and obsticles and crashes into things sometimes, it's hilarious. Nothing to worry about, you have a very normal dog. |

i got my first Yorkie at 16, and she use to do it, run all around the house, just going mad, rubbing her head along the floor, and dragging her body :D I was like omg what is she doing!!! :eek: But this was the norm for her... I would rub her with the towel, and as soon as she got free, she would just crazy.... I think that it is common, cause my sisters little boy use to do it 2... My little boy does it now, but my little girl does not bother, she just hides from me when she gets out the bath, she thinks that she has got to go back in...but i think its norma.....:) |
